Cosmetic surgery

What’s the best way to find a cosmetic surgeon? I’m worried about just googling as I’ve read they usually pay to advertise and don’t want it to go wrong! Any tips

The link that is posted above by PP & also have a look at the reviews and photos on Real Self. You can search for a specific surgeon or treatments and it will show reviews and photos from patients.

Hi, I’m looking for an objective UK based forum to help me learn about the pro’s and cons of cosmetic surgery with genuine before/after pics. A forum with no affiliation with providers. Anyone know if such a forum or Facebook page exists? TIA.

Save face,is the regulating body i think

You can also check their GMC registration to ensure they are on the specialist surgical register.

Tatler do an annual directory.

I'd be wary of Real Self as its paid for and run by cosmetic surgeons who simply ask for any negative feedback to be removed or threaten to withdraw their funding.

Depending on what you need, you could ask your GP for a recommendation.

Martinisarebetterdirty · 03/09/2021 22:57

Agree with Tatler, I’ve found a derm and breast surgeon (now sadly retired) on there, both excellent.

Krellstar · 04/09/2021 08:58

Thanks for kindly replying. It’s appreciated.
I was wary of Real Self for the reasons mentioned above.

Might anyone know if any forums such
as this one where customers of cosmetic surgery discuss their experiences?

Ongoing thanks

The Make Me Heal forum used to be good years ago - a friend raved about it when she had her tummy tuck - but I dont know what its like now.

If you tell us what youre planning to have done then you can get specific advice and testimony - often with before and afters - here.

Ah okay, thanks so much.

I’m considering vaser lipo in attempt to rid myself of bingo wings.

TheBullfinch · 05/09/2021 22:19

For bingo wings, I'd try cool sculpting first, not a knock-off Wowcher deal but the real thing.

For vaser, I'd look at a couple of consultants in London. Choose the one with the longest waiting list!

Avoid Real Self. Not to be trusted; negative reviews are removed.

Wouldn't Tatler just list all the surgeons who have paid for advertising...
I'm sure they also list some great surgeons but I wouldn't treat their lists as independent recommendations by a long shot...
