Grey hair help!

Hi all, does anyone know much about grey hair maintenance?

I have tried using hair straighteners on my grey/white hair but it just turns it yellow (even on the very lowest heat setting of 160) so I'm assuming it's being burnt. I have tried regular use of purple shampoo and every heat protecting serum out there.

Does anyone know a lasting cure for this? Would a toner for bleached hair work? I don't have the cash to maintain regular visits to the hairdressers but don't want to go back to box dyes either.

Help!

I have grey hair and don’t have that issue with straighteners at all. It’s puzzling. Have you tried using a heat protection product specifically for grey hair?

@AnnieSnap Thanks for your reply, I have tried all the main heat protecting serums. Is there one you know of specifically for grey hair? I've Googled that it is a listed side effect of straighteners on grey hair but it's just typical it would happen to mine when I need the straighteners so much to dampen the frizz!

@Trying365 I don’t know of heat protectant for grey hair specifically, but this is quite a good range and this smoothing oil might help with the frizz. Maybe they have something else in the range too. Sorry you gave this problem. I must be lucky on this.

@AnnieSnap Thank you for the link! I'll have a look into that whole range. 👍
