Helix piercing

Any tips? In particular, is it silly to get it done and then go to a football match a couple of hours later? (eg because of pain/swelling)

It's not going to be that sore and mine didn't really swell. If you're worried you could always just take a couple painkillers but after getting it done it was more a dull throb than actual pain.

Take paracetamol before hand.
Sleep on travel pillow.
Do NOT ever touch or twist it.
Drench in saline solution and Pat dry with folded kitchen roll.

Mine was really a non-event.

If you are going to wear glasses or sunglasses (if the sun ever appears), make sure the piercing is low enough down so it doesn’t get irritated.

Get it pierced with a stud rather than a ring (can swap once it’s healed). Make sure your piercer will downsize the bar a few weeks afterwards (mine didn’t and it took ages to heal properly!)

There's a spray Protolind which is really good.
You'll be fine with painkillers.

ive got a double helix and its never been an issue with either piericing site. definitely get it done with a stud rather than a ring, my pericer advised this is best as it moves around less while its healing. shouldnt be an issue for you to go to a football match after unless you have a really low pain threshold! couple of paracetamol and keep it clean afterwards and you should be absolutely fine

Thanks everyone!

I also am going to get my helix pierced. I heard getting it wet is to be avoided @Brian9600
Now I have just found out I am pregnant and apparently things take longer to heal and risk of infection. anyone been in this boat?!
