Can anyone help with finding me a dress please?

I’m in my 30’s and have a party in the summer, quite a posh venue. I’m struggling to find a dress. I am short, size 8/10. This is where it gets tricky. I don’t want strapless or backless and want it short. Ideally in black, purple or gold! I have attached two photos of dresses I like but I hate pink so rules out the pink one, the other I have ordered. Just so there is a vague idea of what I like.

I have exhausted my usual places and I don’t wear dresses very often and want to make an effort in a ‘wow’ dress. I don’t have a budget really as I’m happy to pay to find the right one. Anyone up for the challenge?!

That’s the thing with house of cb, their dresses suck you in and have a flattering fit - you may not have to worry about your belly as the dress can magically spruce it up

@coulditbecominghome no I don’t particularly like feathers, I just happened to like the one I ordered not keen on the Karen Milan one as it’s so shapeless. I like the out net one but it wouldn’t suit me, thanks though

I would have to lop off about 5 inches and then it would probably look ok on me! Not sure I want to be cutting a dress up just yet but good to have a fall back

Pretty sure all of the house of cb dresses do! It’s a usp of the brand. I would highly recommend trying some on, they’re my go-to for glamorous dresses!

Can anyone help me with what style will suit me please? I want a short dress but as I have short legs it’s hard to find the right length that is flattering. I guess I’m kind of an hour glass, I have a defined waist but it certainly isn’t teeny…. Also have quite a flat bum so I’m half apple half hour glass??

Yes the next one is something I would wear in black .. not quite what I’m after though.

What style dress do I need that hides/distracts from my bad bits (belly) but accentuates my best (boobs) but suits my petite frame? The dresses that start just under the bust and flare out… seem to make me look dumpy but I like them and hides my belly…. What style should I actually Avoid?? I love bodycon dresses and they suit but they do make my belly prominent which I REALLY dont want especially when I will be eating and drinking all night….
