Waistcoat: would you?

Just back working at the office. No customers - yet. I'd describe the dress code as casual/smart casual. Jeans are ok (unless ripped/dirty).

My normal office wear consists of Blazer and dark jeans. I'm fed up with that look now and looking for something slightly different but still acceptable and smartish.

I've seen some waistcoats (and matching trousers) in Primark today and thought: could I wear a waistcoat to the office and if so, how would I style it?

For context I'm slimish and shortish. I don't wear dresses or skirts - ever. Could I pull it off or woujd I look like Steve Arnott in drag?

I'm imagining the Sound of Music, matching clothes made from floral curtains.

I would and I do but in a fairly casual way e.g. with jeans and a long sleeved t-shirt
