Elasticated trousers that don't look elasticated

Is there such a think as a pair of smart suit type trousers with an elasticated waist that has buttons and stuff so it doesn't look elasticated. I need some tailored trousers but I change size so much throughout the month I need the elastic to be comfy.

Cefinn Terence are good for this, but pricey.

Notavegan · 03/07/2021 15:47

Sofia and Saint do them

I know it sounds strange but you could try under bump maternity trousers, no one would know! After discovering maternity clothes in pregnancy I still buy items sometimes as they seem to fit better!

Zara do some trousers called jogger waist trousers - they have a thick piece of elastic as the waistband at the back, normal waist band to front. They come in lots of colours and are £27.99

@tunainatin I was tempted. I'm just back off mat leave and remembered how comfy they were.

Thanks for all the suggestions!

I got some from M and S. The waist is elasticated and they have belt loops. Came with a tie belt. But they’re a casual style.

There were quite a few other styles with half elasticated waist.

happytoday73 · 03/07/2021 15:52

Next have a number of different elasticated waist smart trousers

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 03/07/2021 15:55

Uniqlo are good for stretch trousers, especially for apple shapes. They don't have a lot of office style trousers at the moment but they will usually have more as autumn approaches. They have these.

If you can find a stockist of Robell trousers nearby, I'd have a look. German made and quite a few are smart-looking, but many have elastic waists.

I have some from Saint and Sofia. I really like them. They’re cotton too.

MouldyPotato · 03/07/2021 15:58

Oh thank you all so much! I wandered round the shops last week but couldn't find anything!

I bought some treggings from Dorothy Perkins recently with an elastic waist. They are the comfiest trousers I’ve ever worn, and I’ve multiple compliments about how smart they look as well. I’m not sure if they’re enough like “suit trousers” though.

I bought the ones with a seam down the front:

But they also have ones with a button detail which I assume are just as comfy:

Next do some nice ones very comfy too

VikingsandDragons · 03/07/2021 21:11

White Stuff, I have their Bagdale ones and love them, comfiest and softest trousers I've owned that aren't joggers or pjs, I have my eye on the Pippa ones too. Elasticated waist and jersey (but don't look it)

I got some from H&M to tide me over while I slowly deflated after my hysterectomy. Will see if I can find a link.

TheTurn0fTheScrew · 03/07/2021 21:17

www2.hm.com/en_gb/productpage.0946640002.html these are the ones. They are styled really badly here, but are pretty classic wide leg work trousers.

Cocolapew · 03/07/2021 21:19

I have these and they are lovely in RL, really nice material, not shiny, and are very comfortable.
