I’ve put a lot of weight in over the last few years due to health reasons, because I struggle buying anything remotely comfortable I end up living in loungewear, which dosnt exactly help my self confidence. I have a couple of pairs of jeans and tops which I wear out but absolutely nothing summery. Today I found 2 dresses I absolutely loved, both very me everything about them was what I want in a dress, flattering to my large shape and huge breasts and even more importantly covered the top of my arms up, an added bonus was the lovely material didn’t feel cheap at all.

So I get the dresses home, because I can’t try them on in the shop. I’m quietly confident because I’ve bought tops in these sizes and they fit my boobs, but no, not a chance, I couldn’t even get one remotely close to fastening and the other was close, o so close 😭. I called the shop, they are sold out in the bigger sizes and checked online for me, none available anywhere.

I don’t want to return them but if I don’t I know they will just hang in my wardrobe with all the other clothes I will “one day” fit into 😭

I feel you sista!
If it was me I’d return them. Im not the sort of person who looks at an item and has the willpower to lose weight. I have done this in the past and they ended up at the charity with tags still on.

Sooverthemill · 02/07/2021 17:45

Definitely return them! And try to find them in a bigger size. You may be able to do a 'notify me'
Don't forget retailers all size totally differently.

Return them. You deserve clothes that fit you properly.

This is what happens to me every time too. I’ve left them by the front door and told hubby to take them back first thing otherwise I may not end up doing it. He’s more motivated to getting a refund than me haha

We are going out for the day tomorrow, we will pass at least 3 of the same shops so I’m going to try stopping off at each one. I’m hoping that I may get lucky and find someone else has returned the larger sizes x

I've never heard that phrase before, but it's absolutely perfect - goal clothes!

I've bought and sold loads of clothes on ebay that way, brand new, still with the tags on, but obviously been hanging in the wardrobe for a while.

I think that things are going out of stock really quickly just now, but then coming back in again because, as you said, we're all trying things on at home. Hopefully your dresses will appear again in the right size.

Wohooo I managed to get one in my size at another branch! I wasn’t going to bother in the end as we had 3 tired grumpy kids in the car but DH convinced me to nip in on our way home. So pleased!
