Low profile trainers for huge feet

I have large wide feet and hate my foot feeling too heavy so hate thick soles, chunky heels, big toe caps etc. Where can I get really low profile trainers - light, minimal, cut away...that type of thing....

Size 9 here op and I feel your pain - awaiting other answers with interest.

I abandoned my red crocs the day my mother said I resembled Coco the Clown.

Something like this?works for my giant feet (I’m a man, but they seem to be fairly unisex?)

I have size 8 feet, and similarly don't like big chunky trainers. I own these three pairs:
Converse slip ons (Though the quaility of the current ones is way lower than it used to be)
Lacoste Ziane (They also do a 'chunky' model, so make sure you don't get those)
Feiyue (The classic I think are lower profile than the 1920s, but I think I bought the last pair this morning!)

Have you looked into barefoot shoes? Basically brands with very thin, flexible and foot-shaped sole. Great for wide feet!

The most well known UK based brand is Vivobarefoot, but there are lots of other brands. Happy Little Soles stocks some in the UK, and then there are European based ones like Feelgrounds. There are some great FB groups for advice and recommendations

I've got size 9 feet and wear adidas superstars. I actually think the shape balances the foot better than something light, which can highlight the length. But really, if you've got size 9's aren't you also quite tall? I don't really think my feet look that out of proportion with the rest of me.

rbe78 I like the converse slip ins but do they come up narrow?

The fit has changed recently - they used to be quite slim, but I sent the last pair I bought back, as they were too wide for me (I have standard width feet), so it might be worth a try.

Supergas. I have wide feet, although they’re small in size. But they always seem to make my feet look even smaller.

Nobranothanks · 04/07/2021 21:59

I'm following this. I have flippers not feet (mens size 10/EU 44 but wide with added joint issues) and am yet to find an everyday shoe that fits and looks OK other than mizuno wave knit trainers and skechers goga max flip flops (both mens and neither remotely attractive but both weirdly suit me despite the daft I'm a woman in my 30's)

I have white Adidas handball spezials which make my 8.5s look fairly neat

dalrympy · 05/07/2021 14:11

I always think Adidas gazelle (or the specials are a similar shape) make people look like they have very small feet so that would probably be the style to go for.

MolyHolyGuacamole · 05/07/2021 14:22

Size 10 here, I like Adidas Gazelle or Stan Smith.

Lettitbee · 05/07/2021 14:37

DD has size 10 feet. When I ordered her some size 10 Converse they were way too small. The size 11 were fine. These were high tops:

Although on the Converse website, it says the opposite for these shoes:

These shoes run large. We recommend going a half size down.

Superdry pumps make feet look smaller ime. More dainty and light than trainers.
