Oversized / flattering tee shirts to hide mum tum

Baby is two weeks old. I feel pretty good but belly is still protruding a bit obviously especially as I had diastasis recti (ab separation).

I was a size 8-10 before pregnancy but think I feel more comfortable in a size medium now.

I just want some nice oversized / baggy t shirts which will sort of skim over rather than cling to the area.

Any recommendations of tops or where to look please?

I tend to go for plain tees but wouldn't mind something with a bit more to it / something a bit nicer.

H&M have a great selection of plain oversized tees - I have loads of them, they come in longline, normal, v-neck etc.

Also ASOS!

I have a persistent mum tum and I find the Next own brand T-shirts good. I like the cap sleeve ones. Lots of colour choices. They are a good length, too. Not too short, which helps.

Uniqlo airism ones, they’re soooo good and made of magic fabric which stays cool and doesn’t show sweat marks, and are seamless and so flattering. I’ve got about 15 Blush

MouldyPotato · 02/07/2021 16:21

I stocked up on Next Cap Sleeve ones

EnolaAlone · 02/07/2021 16:25

The slouch vests and slouch v-neck t-shirts from Next are really good.

ElderMillennial · 02/07/2021 17:30

I looked at H&M

Next sounds good and the Uniqlo ones sound magic!

Hadn't thought of asos

As pp said Next cap sleeve are very generous and oversized

Also primark slouchy fit

ElderMillennial · 02/07/2021 19:10

Thanks everyone

Do you size up in the next ones then?

Im between a small and a medium (and have huge boobs) so thinking of going for a medium size

I'm. Size (generous) 16 and got the size 16 and its huge- wishing I'd sized down.

12BottlesOfVintageChampagne · 02/07/2021 20:20

I size up with the Next ones, but mostly because I hate cling.

UsedName000 · 02/07/2021 20:32

I agree with the Next ones. I’m 5ft 7 with a long back and they are still a decent length and not clingy.

jemimafuddleduck · 02/07/2021 20:34

Can someone post a link to the next cap sleeve ones please?

MouldyPotato · 02/07/2021 20:36

I don't size up in the next ones. They don't shrink much when washed either.

Hope this works!

ElderMillennial · 02/07/2021 20:57

A lot of the sizes appear to be out of stock

Aw no how disappointing- the five pack is still in stock but it's £35!
I'm got mine in April

Giftwithpurchase · 02/07/2021 21:10

Hi @ElderMillennial many congrats on your beautiful new baby! I found that the ASOS crew neck maternity T-shirt's were great for that in between stage. The organic cotton ones. I know it doesn't feel great to be in maternity clothes for longer than you have to be but these are a really flattering fit. Go for your usual size Smile... (I'm still wearing them and my DC is 12 months)...

Titsywoo · 02/07/2021 21:36

Primark have some great ones

MoltonSilver · 02/07/2021 21:39

Have a look at Lululemon Back in Action. They are expensive but the loose cut covers a multitude.

ElderMillennial · 02/07/2021 22:04

Thank you!

I don't mind the five pack actually. I didn't see that before but the colours look wearable.

I don't mind wearing maternity clothes either but I want them to hud rather than accentuate my belly

@ElderMillennial these are the ones - definitely flatter and don't accentuate

This Zara basic is only £6.99. Come sin loads of different block colours or patterns and is so good at concealing a bit of baby weight. A friend was wearing one the other day and looked so good in it I went out and bought a couple. Really soft cotton too, and they wash OK (need to be pulled back into shape when damp to keep their length.) The longer hem at the back is also good for hiding baby weight around the backside.

MouldyPotato · 03/07/2021 06:27

I bought about 8 of the next ones to see me through mat leave and weaning!

ElderMillennial · 05/07/2021 18:28

I ordered the pack of five Next ones in a size 12 and they arrived today. Tried one on and it still feels a bit clingy around my middle (and bearing in mind I was wondering whether to go for a 10 or 12).

I am only 2 and a bit weeks PP so not sure whether to keep them and hopefully they will fit better in a few weeks!

How frustrating!

It's still early days yet op and you have a month to return them

Congratulations and enjoy the newborn snuggles 💐
