Trinny BFF

After reading lots of rave reviews about Trinny BFF I took the plunge and ordered some. It arrived yesterday and I don’t like it at all!

I have dry skin and it seems to have stayed tacky for a while after applying and then dried out. It doesn’t feel like it’s gone into my skin, instead feeling very ‘on’ it and I know I’m wearing it. I like the smell however, it seems to have seeped onto my lips and left a weird taste in my mouth. There’s also very little / no discernible pigment.

I’m so disappointed, I was looking forward to trying it and, for the price point, had high hopes. After seeing some recommendations on here I’ve ordered Dead Sea Magik CC cream and The Ordinary serum foundation to try but just wondered has anyone else had the same issues with this product / am I doing something wrong and missing out on its wonders?

Yes I’m not very taken with it, was expecting more pigment. I have oily skin and it makes me look shiny (all BB creams/tints do that to be fair).
I won’t be repurchasing. I have the BFF eye which is better for me, but not enough coverage so again won’t be repurchasing.

I'm not mad keen, I agree there's very little pigment. I much prefer Erborian CC creme. It's amazing- but my skin's pretty medium toned and the lightest colour (clair) is perfect for me, I imagine it would be too dark for many.

FreshFaceTime · 02/07/2021 10:44

I love the Erborian CC cream too. I'm a fan of Bare Minerals complexion rescue but have decided not to replace my current tube when it runs out and just stick with Erborian. So for anyone who finds the lightest Erborian CC cream too dark, Bare Minerals could be an option?

Have also recently tried the Ordinary serum foundation and unlike every other product I've tried from the Ordinary I actually really like it! Slightly more effort to apply than the Erborian CC cream (I use a sponge as opposed to just my fingers) so I use it at the weekends when I have marginally more time to get ready.

Have never tried Trinny or Dead Sea Magik so can't compare to those but just throwing that out there in case it helps...

I think the idea is you need another expensive product on top, the De-Stress BFF…. Classic beauty industry trick

I love Trinny and her marketing is brilliant but I’m not convinced by her make up. I think it’s expensive for what it is and even if the BFF cream is amazing (I’ve only tried a sample but wasn’t overwhelmed), I don’t actually want to get stuck spending £35 a pop.

FreshFaceTime · 02/07/2021 11:12

Ooooh worth mentioning on the subject of cost, you can get the Erborian CC cream in a travel sized tube which is about £15 I think so don't have to splurge on the full sized one until you know you'll use it.

Thanks everyone, glad it’s not just me. Will look into the other suggestions here. Maybe one at a time otherwise I’ll have more BB/CC cream than one woman needs!

Having tried several bb creams, including eborian - which is lovely, my favourite bb is no 7 - only £14 and seems to melt into my skin in a way most others don’t.

I use this one but they also have one for oilier skin: www.boots.com/no7-beautiful-skin-bb-cream-for-normal-dry-skin-10134295

coralcavesenormouswaves · 02/07/2021 21:55

Yeah I fell for it too. Just makes my face extremely shiny and does not much else except smell. Total waste of time! There are better products out there. If you want a no make up look have you considered Chanel water fresh tint? It's expensive mind

LesLavandes · 02/07/2021 22:44

I really like it as it gives my skin a healthy natural glow without the coverage. Plus it is an SPF also

cookinahurry · 02/07/2021 22:53

Thanks be bought Trinny BFF cream and destress. Perfect on me for 20 mins max and no more!
Not recommended and I won't but again. Overpriced and doesn't work for my skin.

MagicMatilda · 02/07/2021 23:16

Incase you wanted to get rid of it, her products sell very well on Facebook. I sold an eyeshadow for a couple of pounds less than the retail price.

cookinahurry · 03/07/2021 09:55

Thanks Matilda. I don't have FB but may try EBay. The lip/cheek is the only thing I use. I'll sell the bronze coloured eyeshadow too. It went on so well but didn't last at all but Naked (my daughter's) and No 7 eyeshadow do last.
