Hair dye allergy test

I’m in a quandary! So I recently started dying my hair again after not dying it for years. I used to dye it constantly when I was younger. I’m now in my late forties and last time I dyed it, when I did the allergy test, it started itching slightly and then the area behind my ear went very dry and ‘eczemary’ (I don’t suffer from eczema). However, for whatever reason, I decided to go ahead and dye my hair anyway. It was absolutely fine and no reaction whatsoever, not even slight itching or stinging.

So fast forward to this time and again, after the allergy test, the area has gone quite red and is itchy. I’m wondering whether I should dye my hair anyway as had no reaction last time and had I not done the allergy test, would have been none the wiser. Or would that just be foolish and I was just lucky I didn’t react.🤷🏻‍♀️

I guess I would like to know whether this has happened to anyone else where they have reacted to the allergy test but not to the actual dye on their scalp.
And for those who do react, what hair dye do you use? As after researching, I can’t find any that you don’t have to do an allergy test for.

Interested to hear from anyone but if there are any hairdressers or skin specialists who can enlighten me, I’d really like to know how or why I reacted to the allergy test but not to the dye.
Thank you!

Not worth the risk. Can you imagine the regret you'd feel if your whole head went like your ear. Or ballooned?

I'd agree ... not worth the risk
