Are supergas naff?

I need new white trainers. I usually buy converse but can't face breaking a new pair in, so went for supergas instead. But now I'm wondering if they're a bit naff? I'm 40 and mostly live in jeans and t-shirts. Thanks

At 40 you should wear what you like OP! I'm 48 and haven't given a shit what anyone else thinks for about 10 years. Wear a bag on each foot if you like...wear your clothes and shoes with confidence and you'll look good.

No, definitely not.
They're heavier than you think, and I don't find them particularly comfortable, but they're not naff.
Not as ubiquitous in summer in Italy as they were say 20 years ago, but still the summer casual shoe of choice among a lot of adults.

They are more of a staple than fashionable. I do find them heavy. Bought my first pair 25 years ago.

They’re classic I think. I wouldn’t say they’re “in” as such but they’ve been around so long now they’re never “out”. Not naff.

Ok great. Thanks. I know I shouldn't give a shit and just wear what I want, but I've put on a few pounds in lockdown, I've started getting grey hairs and wrinkles and it's knocked my confidence a bit.

Not naff. They're classic. I don't find them supportive enough though.

Not naff by any means but hardly 'cutting edge' either and that's OK. Whilst I wouldn't choose them myself (I like classic Adidas), there's nothing wrong with them.

I got fit flop white rally airyknits and I don't care if they're naff because they're like walking on fluffy clouds.
