Has anyone tried Allbirds trainers?

How natural are they?

Does there seem to be a lot of glue holding them together? I have issues with glue and ordinary trainers

I've got 2 pairs. No sign of any glue! They're expensive but the most comfortable shoes I've ever had.

I liked mine, really comfortable to wear, but after a year unfortunately my toe is poking through the knit. It's a shame as I've loved them until now but for £95 I need them to last longer than a year.

Can't say I've noticed glue!

Which fabric have you each got - I was looking at the wool but am prepared to be tempted?

I have never had trainers I could wear

I've got a pair of tree runners for summer, and wool runners for winter. The wool ones are starting to look a bit worn but I've had them for 2 years and worn them a lot. The wool ones are toasty warm so I wouldn't wear them on a hot day. I also wouldn't wear either pair in heavy rain! I think there is a waterproof version of the wool runner if you want something with a bit more protection although I'd probably make a different shoe choice altogether if the weather was bad.

Also just to warn you the sizing is a bit weird - I'm a UK 7/ EU40/ US9 but their size chart equates these differently if that makes sense. I ended up going by the cm measurement and bought a UK 6-6.5 which fits perfectly (more like a UK7 in my opinion).

I have tree skippers. They have been amazingly comfortable and versatile but as I said my toe is poking through now!

KatyMac · 30/06/2021 22:02

They are mainly for when I am on my bike!

So shower proof is OK but generally I'm not rain proof when I am cycling Wink

Thanks for the heads up about sizing -at least they are free returns

I have multiple pairs and love them.
Very comfortable.
I have both the classic wool runner, the wool piper ( which has a bit more street cred) and the tree runner.
I wear socks with the wool runner - stops the toe poking out.
I look on eBay - you will often find pairs worn a couple times for half the price 😉

I might buy a pair from the shop they have 30 returns

But looking at the site they are American - I wonder if there is something similar made in the UK?

I didnt know natural trainers existed now I do I might be pickyWink

Actually company started by a New Zealander - but based is US.
Merino is from NZ and woven in Italy.

I really like them. I’ve got the original wool runner and the actual trainers for running (if that makes sense!) Both v comfy and worth the cost.

I've got the Mizzle high tops. Genuinely rainproof, ridiculously comfortable, no need for socks.
