I saw a woman of about my age (50s) in Waitrose yesterday and she had the most fantastic legs. Slim, even colour, not a dimple or blemish. Understandably she was wearing a pair of shorts. I could have wept as the possessor of two white (almost blue) mottled stumps rippling with cellulite Sad . If I wore shorts in Waitrose they’d think I’d escaped from the meat counter.

Zparks · 28/06/2021 19:18

Olive skin or darker. Makes everything look a million times better than my pasty white tan-resistant flesh!

I am a happy woman as I never get fat (I got it from my dad) and I am a tailor and can sew and wear for myself what I want. I love wearing little dresses and shorts.

JesusMaryAndJosephAndTheWeeDon · 28/06/2021 20:27

Women in hats.

I can't wear hats, I have a massive head so they don't ever fit properly. I can't even wear a baseball cap. I can fit bobble/beany hats on but due to the massiveness of my head they look really stupid.

I would love to wear a trilby or a straw sun hat.

tinkywinkyshandbag · 28/06/2021 20:30

Anything sleeveless as I hate my fat arms with psoriasis, also anything that can be worn bra less as I have big knockers

Oh my, now there's a post. Confused
IToldYouIWasCummins · 29/06/2021 10:52

Women that look polished but natural. Glowing skin, beautiful hair, naturally pretty, nails freshly done. Just everything I fail to be everyday.

Zenithbear · 29/06/2021 10:57

People with light ash blonde hair who tan easily. It's god/goddess like.
I have the hair colour but milk bottle white skin. Fake tan isn't the same.
Also feet that look good in trainers, converse etc. I have skinny long feet and they look good in sandals, flip flops etc but not trainers.

BrownEyedGirl80 · 29/06/2021 10:57

Short skirt wearers with no cellulite

SwimBaby · 29/06/2021 11:06

When I see women wear 7/8 length trousers (I think they are called Capri trousers) and pumps and an expensive looking top. They look all out together and very chic.
Also all the young women and their 22inch waists and pert bums!

Giggorata · 29/06/2021 11:16

“If I wore shorts in Waitrose they’d think I’d escaped from the meat counter.“
IrmaFayLear, you have a helluva turn of phrase. 🤣

I am old and fat, but trying to do something about it, and there are a lot of clothes that look wonderful on others and awful on me 😢

I would like to wear a simple linen sleeveless shift dress, but hang on, fat armpits.
I would like to wear a tucked into jeans top, but, oops, fat belly.
I would like to wear shorts, but no, wobbly thighs.

Bugger.

bigbaggyeyes · 29/06/2021 11:34

People who make casual clothes look classy.

Jeans and a T-shirt - I look like a frumpy mum wearing a jeans and T-shirt that I just grabbed from a draw

Classy - looks like an actor with trendy jeans and t-shirt, fashionably put together

blueskyemily · 29/06/2021 18:25

Linen. Even if I iron it to within an inch of its life, within half an hour of wearing it I'm a crumpled mess. How do some people wear it and look good all day?

Bertiebiscuit · 29/06/2021 18:52

Lovely tailored shirts - those of us with big busts just can't can't - the buttons gape the armholes strain, and they are just uncomfortable
Ditto really tailored jackets - just not cut to fit big breaded women

Maireas · 29/06/2021 19:10

Oh I can't wear linen either, I look like I've slept rough.
GalaxyGirl24 · 29/06/2021 19:29

Tall, slim, elegant figures! Long slim legs.
Flat tummies! And then on the flip side...super curvy women with pear shape hips and C/D cups!

I'm curvy and athletic tone if I wasn't 1 to 2 stone overweight at the moment but have always had more towards an B cup.

Quirky and well put together fashion sense, people who can just put stuff together and look amazing regardless of style.

Frizz free hair that does what you want everyday😂 I love my long curly hair but it's bloody hard work.

XingMing · 29/06/2021 19:45

I hope I look like the sort of person who makes casual clothes look classy, but I suspect I fall a little sort of my ideal. I saw a lady I know (who used to sell clothes in the local posh frock shop) going into the garden centre ahead of me recently, and in jeans and jumper, boots and bag... she looked terrific.

And then I analysed her look. The jeans (my favourite brand, I buy in sale) -- about £250, the cashmere jumper: at least £400, probably £500. The bag was about £600, and the boots I didn't recognise. I'm sure she would have had a healthy discount from retail price, but bigbaggyeyes is spot on to say that there's a chasm between frumpy mum and carefully styled actor. But unless you are a brilliant stylist (some people are), the difference is quality, and the cut and fabric are only rarely from M&S.

waitingforsun · 30/06/2021 21:01

Effortlessly lovely hair. Mine is blonde, very fine with weird kinks, when I tie it all back it's about the thickness of a pencil. I'd love luscious thick locks.

SapphireSeptember · 01/07/2021 02:30

I once saw my favourite singer wearing a gorgeous black and white striped skirt, can I find anything similar anywhere? Like hell I can! I want one!

I get fashion envy watching period dramas and Harry Potter, I love anything Tudor or Victorian, and I wonder if I could get away with wearing a French hood...

ballroompink · 01/07/2021 07:51

Definitely long legs. I'm slim but that classic pear shape with disproportionately short legs and I often struggle with trousers being far too long.

TheChild · 01/07/2021 08:06

Nice, toned arms. I am a 12/14 but my arms are disproportionately larger than the rest of me. I will NEVER wear anything without at least a half sleeve out in public, even if it's boiling hot.

Quite sad, really, come to think of it. I wish I didn't care what people thought but I do.

Also envious of people who tan easily or can wear fake tan and it not go patchy.

Doesn't matter if I have shaved, moisturised and exfoliated, my legs especially just go patchy and uneven. So I just put up with patchy, pale and bruised legs that look like big slabs if meat!

PeacheyPeach · 01/07/2021 10:02

I saw an older lady probs late 60s in town the other day and she looked amazing, long linen coat type thing and big jewelry and harem pants lovely clog style sandals . I would love to look like that but I know it also takes an awful lot of money to achieve it she just looked expensive 😅 I'm just to frizzy and cheap to ever look like that!!!
