Chanel foundations advice!

I am having trouble deciding which to choose. I have tried them briefly once in the shop but I never find that enough really to get a sense of them.

I am considering

Les beiges water fresh tint
Les beiges healthy glow (new version)

And I haven't tried but have read about
Vita lumière aqua

I want something low coverage that will just make my skin look a bit nicer basically. I don't want matte, but I also have an oily t zone and don't want anything mega dewy.

Please can someone advise? I have seen varying reports about how dewy the vitalumiere is compared to the healthy glow, and about how dewy the water fresh ends up being. TIA!

Any ideas? 😩

Fresh water tint is my holy grail. Looks dewy but not too much and I always get compliments on my skin when I wear it

Thank you! That's great to know. YouTube videos are so hard to see what it's really like. I have an oily t zone, do you think that will be problematic?

Les beiges water fresh tint doesn't last too long on me. It's great for my Sunday makeup when I just want to look a bit polished. If you need any coverage at all I wouldn't go for it though as I don't think it would be very buildable.

PurpleyBlue · 27/06/2021 20:32

I'm looking for a bit longer lasting so I'm going to try Les beiges healthy glow next

I do need coverage, I have bad acne scars on my chin but I think I'd rather just use concealer for that rather than have coverage everywhere if that makes sense?

I think maybe I need to buy more than one 😩 maybe the water fresh AND healthy glow?

From the info, it looks like the vitalumiere should be less dewy than the other two but everything I have seen suggests it's kind of more obvious on the skin somehow??

The water fresh is basically zero coverage on me but makes skin glowy. I put a bit of powder in my t zone as I'm a bit oily there.

I’d go with the vital luminaire wrong spelling I know, I have the water tint and it doesn’t cover anything it does make your skin look nice but I’ve got hayfever and slightly blotchy skin at the moment so I’m not using it, no coverage at all just dewy finish.
I love Chanel foundations and have had some lovely ones in the past but water tint is my least fave.

Twinkie01 · 28/06/2021 08:05

Is there a reason you're set on Chanel specifically? I used VL for years but swapped to the Armani luminous silk a while ago and it's amazing much much better than the Chanel one.

I think I just saw a shade that actually matched my skin in the Chanel, I looked at Armani and they all seemed too pink for me.

What is the texture of the Armani like compared to Chanel? Why do you like it better?

I love the water tint, but I agree that it's perfect if you just want to make your otherwise good skin a bit more glowy. Does not hide or cover much.

Twinkie01 · 28/06/2021 17:08

The Armani one is more liquid than the Chanel one, glides on better and it just makes you look glowing but not in a teenage way. I have quite yellow toned warm skin and was colour matched at 5.5, my friend who I went with has paler skin which has pink undertones and was matched at 5.0.

I have been through them all, MAC, Nars , Chanel, Bobby Brown, Dior, Estée Lauder, Charlotte Tilbury, Laura Mercier and Lancôme and the Armani one comes out trumps.
