What makes you feel 'put together'?

So this has just occurred to me as I had an awful night of sleep last night (2yo and 5wo) and feel like I'm barely human today. However I've just discovered BB cream is a thing (bit late to the party!) and have started using it instead of putting moisturiser on in the mornings. I feel great! I didn't have to faff about with makeup, and feel like I look natural but good at the same time. Quick and easy and now I feel more human Grin What product/item does everyone else have that makes them feel good or like you're ready to go for the day?

A spritz of perfume.

FizzyPink · 26/06/2021 12:15

Washing my hair.

I try to only wash it twice a week and some days convince myself it’s fine even though it could do with a wash and I always end up regretting not just washing it.

Seesawmummadaw · 26/06/2021 12:16

Emma Hardie protect and prime with spf. I don’t feel the need for make up since using it because my skin looks so good.

sittingonacornflake · 26/06/2021 12:18

Trinny London products are amazing for helping me feel put together but natural. BFF and BBF destress (tinted serum) make my skin glow and give a little bit of coverage but my complexion still shows through.

Also serum for hair to smooth down flyaways is always good. I'll also maybe add in a few curls with the Dyson air wrap just round my face and on the top section to tidy up my natural mental curls.

Comfortable underwear and socks. Doesn't matter how neat the outer layers are, if the bra is slightly wrong, the band is irritating my section scar overhang or they're slightly scratchy or one of my socks is slipping slightly, I feel like crap.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 26/06/2021 12:20

Full make up, earrings, perfume - can do the whole lot in 5 mins and don't feel dressed without it.

Seesawmummadaw · 26/06/2021 12:20

Oh yes, good underwear before anything else.
If my underwear is nice I feel a hundred times better (even if I look like shit).

coodawoodashooda · 26/06/2021 12:30

Eyebrows done

MrsCremuel · 26/06/2021 12:38

Eyebrows and lashes tinted. I’m pale and fair and it transforms my face.

WindFlower92 · 26/06/2021 13:17

Good shout on the perfume and underwear! My underwear has to match, even though no one will be seeing it. Made such a difference after I had DD2 when I got some new underwear to fit the new body!

I've just had baby no3 and bought Nivea in-shower moisturiser in anticipation of less time in the mornings. Love it! It's takes the same time/effort as shower gel/soap but no waiting for lotion to sink in after shower.

RedHotChiliChips · 26/06/2021 14:12

Putting on light make-up and NOT wearing flip flops.

Confusedandshaken · 26/06/2021 14:20

A blow dry, nice nails, white teeth, defined eyebrows (currently microbladed), lipstick and fresh botox. With all those I feel smart and ready for anything even if I'm in my pyjamas!

UntilYourNextHairBrainedScheme · 26/06/2021 15:01

Little huggie hoop earrings which I can leave in for days or weeks. I don't wear makeup or us many cosmetic products but wearing small earrings makes me feel put together, I guess.

I completely agree with a properly fitting bra too - Ive recently lost weight and it took so long to find the right style and size when ordering online and returning, but I finally have now!

Susannahmoody · 26/06/2021 20:16

Only thing really for me is being slim. The rest is all secondary.

comeflywithpork · 26/06/2021 20:20

Nice nails, not too long. It's my one little treat to myself - to get gel polish every two weeks. It's amazing the little boost it gives.

blueskyemily · 26/06/2021 22:59

Ironed clothes, although I suspect that may be a bit ambitious with a 2 year old and 5 week old!

An easier one is blusher. I feel like it makes a big difference to how I look.

LunaTheCat · 27/06/2021 00:38

Earrings
Lashed tinted, eyebrows shaped, facial hair waxed
A good haircut.

SpeckledyHen · 27/06/2021 08:00

Daily hair wash , perfume and lipstick.
All essential for me .

FindingMeno · 27/06/2021 08:03

If I'm in a rush or my clothes are a bit dull, jewellery or a scarf.
Clean shoes, specs and nails.

Agadorsparticus · 27/06/2021 08:06

Clean styled hair, painted nails, perfume, touch of make-up.
I paint my nails every week without fail, it used to be a pain until I found Sally Hansen instadry top coat. No more wasting 30mins for it to dry.

PaulasRose · 27/06/2021 08:28

Eye lash curler and a nice new item of clothing.

Pulloverjumperorsweater · 27/06/2021 08:38

Clean hair, foundation or BB cream, definitely mascara & clothes that aren’t ‘athleisure’ (aka a tracksuit!).
