How much do you spend on beauty stuff?

I think I'm pretty low maintenance but even so it adds up.

Every 6 weeks I have:

Haircut £53
Eyebrow shape and tint, eyelash tint £25

I pay about £12 for a fairly ordinary moisturiser, £36 for a "nice" foundation £15 for concealer, plus blusher and tinted lip balm. Probably around £30pm on average

So that's total of say £90 pm, which seems a lot to me even though I can afford it comfortably. I quite fancy a regular manicure, but it seems a ridiculous extravagance.

People who do all the treatments, facials, waxing, nails, hair colour, fake tan, full make up etc must be spending a fortune. How do "ordinary" people manage it?

@grasstreeleaf is there someone you watch on online for hair tutorial, I do trim my own ends but would like to do my own layers.

PenelopeP1tstop · 30/06/2021 20:39

Nails and pedicure - £80 a month
Hair extensions - £400 every 11-12 weeks
Botox - £600 a year

I buy make up and skin care and don't want to add that up really

grasstreeleaf · 30/06/2021 21:25

@lindyloo57, no. I put a pony tail at centre of the top of my head and cut across it. This trims the bottom of my hair. I then put a pony tail towards the front of my head for layers over my parting at the front. (Closer to the front the shorter the front/fringe layers). Then hand trim any uneven bits or get DH to at the back.

@moonbedazzled

But how old is everyone? I've noticed that as my age goes up, so does the cost of upkeep.
I'm 56,for me the cost has gone down. !£15-20 maximum a month for hair cut, moisturiser and cleanser. I use witchazel for cleansing and Superdrug vit E on my skin

I think with age what I spend money on has changed. When I was younger it was more makeup. Concealer and foundation to cover up spots. The latest fashion in lipstick, eyeshadow, blusher, highlighter, nail varnish, etc Now I'm older I spend more on skincare, moisturisers, eyecreams, pigmentation creams, anti redness creams, facial oil, foot cream, hand cream, body lotions and oils, hair serums and suncream. My makeup is more pared down and neutral. Good job really!Grin

@66babe Thanks, that's interesting to hear. I tried the cheaper Mavala (?) lash cream before the Rapidlash and had better results. I'll definitely experiment with the castor oil when I've finished with the Rapidlash.

Ooh prob far too much. It has increased a lot over the past couple of years since I am post menopause, I used to spent basically nothing. But now, I've done it all in monthly:

Hair, cut and roots, £30
Skin and me £20
Botox £65
Eyebrows £10
Skincare £30
Make up £10

£165 per month average. Pointless really, I still look shit.
