That's all I have. It's a wedding, it'll likely have a strong gay pride theme.

What would you wear?!

I'd wear a fabulous hat, and then whatever made me comfortable for the rest of my outfit. Loads of amazing hats on ebay, or you can hire them

JustKeep · 24/06/2021 16:01

I’d interpret that as “glam”, so if I felt like a dress I’d wear something satin/sequinned, maybe full length or maybe cocktail length. Glam accessories like a feather boa or a fascinator or big shiny jewellery. Rainbow colours an optional extra.

Mumdiva99 · 24/06/2021 16:03

Glam cocktail dress. Big hat. Jewel colours. Matching nails.

It basically means a big hat with feathers or similar.

and a bit of sparkle on your dress.

I would go for a Cape over my dress, they always look a bit more glam than a little jacket. ASOS is always good for accessories like that, they have loads of single capes and dresses with inbuilt capes.

[quote waltzingparrot]There's this

As amazing as this is, I feel a bit like you might be stealing the thunder of the groom & groom (I'm assuming?). This is also more of an evening look, so would depend on the time of the wedding as well as the venue and overall feel. It's a very formal look.

LadyR77 · 24/06/2021 16:28

I'd go for something like the Kitty Joseph chroma dress and some wonderful jewellery.

Miseryisabutterfly · 24/06/2021 17:17

All I can think of is strictly come dancing

ScribblyBaller · 24/06/2021 17:20

I'd interpret 'fabulous' as extremely stylish rather than necessarily flamboyant.

What's your normal style?

Providora · 24/06/2021 19:20

My normal style is very understated. Classic cuts, autumn colours. I'm way out of my comfort zone here!

Feather boa to doll up a plain cocktail dress is a good shout, thank you. I'm not really a hat/fascinator person but will see what's out there.

Oooooo I love the Kitty Joseph chroma range, especially the skirt, would have to hunt down a cheaper version though!

That is adorable @pissface but not 'me' unfortunately (I'm not adorable Grin) and I forgot to add it's a winter wedding... soon, I'm in Australia.

The thing about dress codes like this is that you can often tick the box with quite a small change to your usual look. So, a classic black dress with Uber glamorous shoes. Or high glam make up. A jewel bright jacket. A boa. A cape. A fascinator etc

Poppins2016 · 25/06/2021 01:45

@ScribblyBaller

I'd interpret 'fabulous' as extremely stylish rather than necessarily flamboyant.

What's your normal style?

Ditto.

I'd aim for something stylish that you feel fabulous in.

Susannahmoody · 25/06/2021 01:49

What's the location? A beach? Or country club type affair?

I'd wear a knock out dress

Providora · 25/06/2021 06:23

It's at a function centre. Indoors, at least I bloody hope it is but will check!

I love that dress @Alternista, great pick! Will see if it's on the Aus site in my size.

OP posts:
Alternista · 25/06/2021 17:36

Oh yay! Hope you can get hold of it. Let me know!

Providora · 25/06/2021 23:17

Alas everything between size 10 and 24 is sold out so that's me out. And now Asos is popping it in my ad block and trading taunting me with it.

I've ordered a feather boa so will be able to cobble an outfit together with what I already have if necessary.
