How to keep the pleats?

I have a dress with a pleated skirt like this sort of style. But it's been hanging in my overpacked wardrobe and the pleats are a bit scrunched and twisted at the bottom now and they don't hang nicely at the bottom anymore. They tend to twist a bit. Can anyone tell me how to get the to hang nice and straight again?? They'd be a real pain in the ass to iron. I've thought about using a hair straightener but not sure that would be any easier. Is there a trick to these pleated skirts?

Steam.

If you haven’t got a handheld steamer you can use the iron on steam setting without touching the fabric.

Or hang in a really steamy bathroom.

Or just spray lightly with water and leave to dry.

I would hang in the bathroom for a couple of days after it has been washed again. It works with my pleated skirts.

A dry cleaner will be able to press them back into shape if the other tips don't work

Is it washable? I'd wash it and hang it .. I wouldn't think it is though if it's deformed in storage . Get it dry cleaned but you may have changed it's 'dna' if it's been like it a while .
( I'm an ex dry cleaner and that is possible )

Thanks all. I don't think hanging in my bathroom will work. I've tried that with other things and it's never worked. I do have a steamer so I can give that a go. I was just worried that if I steam it all the pleats will come out. If all else fails I'll take it to a dry cleaner because the dress cost me a few £££
