Waterproof summer shoe

What do people wear on their feet when it’s warm but wet? Had to the the school run in the pouring rain today. My choice of footwear was basically winter boots, converse or ballet pumps.. so too warm or not water proof! Can anyone recommend a waterproof light trainer or comfortable shoe that keeps the rain out and won’t break the bank? Thank you in advance wise people..

I just wear my Teva sandals which are very waterproof and bare feet - which are easier to towel off than having wet shoes laying around

I also have Tevas which I don't mind paddling in/getting wet at the beach, but for rainy school runs etc I wear these Joules short welly things that look a bit like trainers - like these, but black:

I bloody love them! Although you wouldn't want to walk long distances in them - too flat.

Bloody annoying isn't it. My leather nike airs are mostly waterproof.

Thanks so much everyone, it looks rainy and warm for the next week where I am so definitely going to check out all these! Maybe I need to learn to be more like my toddler and happy in welly boots even when it’s 20 degrees plus Grin
