Okay, so what's your opinion?

I tend to wear one colour (matte) . I use Bobbi Brown in cement, stone and blonde. They are all neutral ranging from medium beige/grey to brown.

I also use their eye liner crayon in dark brown across the top and under low lashes.

I think this suits me BUT sometimes it looks a bit too smokey eye for day time...a lot of young women I see are wearing almost nude lids (just like foundation on them) and eye liner or a dark shade in the crease.

Opinions please!

Would an eyeshadow primer be useful? I always thought it was an unnecessary step until I tried it and now use it all the time - Urban decay eye primer potion - it gives that kind of base you describe and many people wear it on its own or with very minimal, neutral shadow in the crease and/or outer corner

Have you tried playing around with your current look but leaving out steps/products such as eyeliner - I was surprised how fresh/modern my eye makeup looked without eyeliner..

Also you could have a look on Pinterest at runway makeup and try to figure out the techniques of anything you like. Or Lisa Eldridge on YouTube is fantastic. Hard to know if any of that would be your cup of tea but hope it might be useful!
