Hi there everyone

I have become abit of a scruff during lockdowns

I work from home anyways so it's become a bad habit

I need help dressing for my shape as I have a big tummy 😭 it just sticks out big time and I hate it but I don't think baggy clothes are helping

I'm also only 5ft 4 and 14 stone!

So any suggestions I've never been good at styling

I like colourful things and go to brands have become mantary, fat face etc as I like patterns

'Empire line' ? I mean a high waistline, with the bodice seamed to the skirt just under the bust. This shape is available as tops or as dresses.

KeyboardWorriers · 20/06/2021 10:54

I am falling into this trap too. I want to look less scruffy but don't want to lose the comfort.

Empire line looks awful on me, just makes me look more pregnant than I already do.

funtimefrank · 20/06/2021 11:00

Me too - am a spread hourglass so waist and hips but tummy plus short and short waisted. So watching as my holy grail is comfy, flattering and not scruffy.

HarrietSchulenberg · 20/06/2021 11:01

Empire line is the worst thing you can go for to hide a big belly - trust me, I am a large apple shape and have tried everything.
The trick is to look for longer line tunic type tops or dresses. A line is good, or something that flares over tummy and hips.

Okay, perhaps empire line is not so good.
A-line will skim the tummy without cutting-in underneath it. Problem with A-line is can look like a tent.

What about cocoon shape with side pockets?

Yes I see I am a Apple now used to be more pear shaped
