Wardrobe to match your personality

I don’t mean the actual piece of furniture... but the contents.

[Although... come to think of it, I have always hankered after a French style armoire.]

However... what I’m really asking is how to compile a successful wardrobe consisting of things which reflect your personality, which I suppose reflects your style.

I read to just buy things I love.. but the snag with this is that I eve up with quite a hotch potch as the things don’t always necessarily go with each other.

On the other hand, if I sit down and write a list, or look objectively at what I think I “need” I always seem to end up buying a “key piece” which is something I don’t love.

*I tend - not I read (auto correct).

It’s a tricky one. I have too much stuff, I can’t resist charity shop bargains.

Is your aim to have a capsule wardrobe?

I tend to buy what I love but also stick to either dresses, so it's a more or less a whole outfit on its own, or if I buy separates, I stick to a small colour palette with a lot of neutrals, so they mainly go together.

Also, I don't buy anything if I can't think of a few ways to wear it.
