Best root touch up for greys?

I have quite long, thick hair and I like my natural colour. I am getting very grey around my hairline now. I wear my hair up for work and it’s very noticeable now.

I can’t afford a salon colour and don’t want the hassle of doing all my hair.

Are there any good root touch up type products that I could just colour my hairline with? I have pretty standard mid/dark brown hair.

Thanks in advance

I like this one from Josh Wood.

I find it much longer lasting, easier and more accurate than the spray/powder options I've tried.

You just use the brush (has a pump button at the bottom to dispense product as you need it) on your wet hair and then blow dry to "set" the colour.

It says it last 3 washes but tbh I think that's a bit optimistic and I find it's more like 2 especially in the very grey bits.

I've linked to my colour but other options are available.

I have the same problem and have also been looking for a semi permanent root touch up. At £19 that's quite expensive though. De Rigeur, how many uses would you say you get out of it? l used to use Clairol 8 washes colour cream, just rubbed some on the grey and left for a bit before l washed my hair. Cheap as chips at about £3.00 and the bottle lasted ages but of annoyingly it got discontinued.

@Seaoftroubles

For me it "lasts" well.

Yes it's expensive but I buy it twice a year.

I get 6/10 applications per purchase depending on how often I wash my hair.

@DeRigueurMortis thanks for that info, l wash my hair a couple of times a week so probably wouldn't last me very long!

I have similar greys and brown hair. I tried a spray for the greys, along with a crayon thing. I thought my hair colour was fairly 'standard' brown, but both products made the grey come out a different colour and looked even worse! Trying to get a close match was impossible.

I just use l'oreal casting colours now. Its not a root touch up, but I just do the whole head and sit in the lounge with a carry bag or cling film on my head for 30mins Grin

Its a semi, and supposed to last 28 washes. I use it every 5ish weeks though. Being semi- it doesn't leave a line when growing out like a permanent does. I buy it when they have it 2 for £12.
