Handbag import duties from UK to EU? Super fun

Has anyone in the EU bought a handbag from the UK post Brexit please? I want to buy one from Aspinal and am going down a rabbit hole of tax websites but can't find out what the import duties are 🤯. The additional cost could potentially be prohibitive on an already expensive enough bag, but...I want the bag.

Aspinal may cover it, lots of businesses do now. Check the delivery section on their site, or contact them

Depends on value

@thisplaceisweird I think I need to close the handbag websites and go to bed. I literally read that earlier and didn't register it. Thank you!!

Opp, sorry. That's the wrong way round.
Is there something similar for your country?

Looking at this it seems handling and insurance is a separate charge and then you have to pay Customs and VAT in addition to that

So 12% of the value + handling/insurance and then 23% on the sum of all that. Works out around €150 on a €400 purchase... Won't be doing that. I'll call Aspinal tomorrow and ask. My bag craving will remain unsatisfied for tonight.

I don't think so. It says the insurance and handling (charged at 3% to EU) would subsidise tax duty etc.

So if 3% of the bag is 100€ and they want to charge you 99€ then you'll be fine. If they want to charge you 101€, it says to contact customer services about the additional amount you may need to pay.

Aspinal has confirmed that the duty and VAT will be redirected back to them. I'll order my bag so!
