Tranexamic acid for melasma

Anyone else using this for melasma patches? I bought a TA booster serum 2.5% and I'm already seeing some good results after a few weeks. I have mottled brown patches on my cheeks and forehead and these are definitely lighter!

Does anyone know what order to use it as part of a skincare routine - I'm not sure if it's less effective when with other products or serums?

Also not sure whether to stop using once patches have lightened or retain as part of daily routine?

Any advice appreciated Smile

I'm using the M +E one and I'm sure it helps.

Can I ask which patches they are OP?

KaptainKaveman · 15/06/2021 20:21

Or which serum!

I've got the Superdrug one @KaptainKaveman

Thanks. I use their Vit C booster which is really good!

I think the Superdrug range is really good @KaptainKaveman and inexpensive too! I have quite a few of their serums and boosters.

My worry is I think I might be using too many products together!

I have horrible melasma and didn't know anything other than hydroquinone cream worked.
Do you just put it on the brown patches @Lookdeepintotheparka or all over your face? How soon before you saw results?

Lookdeepintotheparka · 16/06/2021 18:25

@mylovelydd you can either use it all over or on targeted patches. I'm actually quite pleased with the results after just a few weeks as my melasma is usually much more noticeable in the summer.

Am just using once a day in the evenings and I'm going to try a few different combinations with other products e.g vit c to see what works best!

I've bought two bottles from superdrug on your recommendation @lookdeepintotheparker Smile. Less than a tenner for two - result!

Ooh great! Hope it works for you @KaptainKaveman
