Why does tan go like this on me?!

All I want is a little bit of colour from a gradual tan and this is what they go like (see pics). I don't understand. This is the garnier summer body and I've used it the past few summers with no issues so I know how to apply it but this year it keeps going all patchy like this. I look absolutely ridiculous. I also tried a dove gradual tan and it went the same! What is going on? I'm incredibly pale naturally and having a slight tan just gives me a little bit more confidence usually.

I don’t know but I end up looking like a giraffe whenever I try gradual (or any type of liquid Tanner). Especially after a few days. I’ve given up. I can tan in the sun normally but fake tan I looks terrible on me. I’ve had a spray tan and that went patchy too.

Did you do the exfoliate, moisturise, tan with a mitt?
Did you shake the bottle well to mix the tan into the moisturiser?

If so - then try adding another layer today to see if it evens up.

Is this the day after application or has it been on a few days? (in which case it is just your skin shedding)

Allergy maybe?

Toilenstripes · 14/06/2021 14:16

I would try Sally Hansen leg make up.

No idea but I have the same problem. Even actually tan from the sun caused the spots, I look like an extra from Mr Fucking Tumble.

I'd be thinking of the possibility of a yeast/fungal infection which only became pronounced when you added a layer of colour. I would see the GP

I do exfoliate before putting it on but I don't moisturise seperately as this one as it is a moisturiser lotion, basically a tinted moisturiser I think? I put this on on Saturday evening.

The white patches everywhere aren't raised or anything that's why I don't think it seems to be an allergy. It used to go a lovely even colour on me.

The only difference is that I'm pregnant this time using it so I wonder if it has something to do with hormones?

Absolutely could be to do with being PG. All sorts of weird stuff happens then....Grin

I get this on my stomach even with spray tans!
