Help me find the perfect sleeveless vest top

You'd think it was easy to find the perfect vest top. I want a boxy shape. Not clingy. Not see through. Not too low or high cut at the front and back. Wide enough straps to hide bra. To look nice tucked into loose trousers or shorts or to wear untucked with jeans. In black, white, grey.. any colour really. M and S used to do a perfect one but seemed to have stopped selling them now. Help!!

If you found an M and S outlet store you may find some excess stock?
White stuff?

EmmaStone · 13/06/2021 11:31

Me & Em used to do the perfect swing vests, do any of these work?

With you, op. You would think it would be a simple basic thing to buy. Those are nice Emma, but as I want a few, far too pricey for me. I would like something a bit longer, too

mistermagpie · 13/06/2021 11:45

Me too! I actually bought a few in primark of all places, years ago, but they are worn out now.

The ones linked above are pretty much it, but too pricey for me (hence primark!).

Watching with interest
My favourite ones are from Tesco, drapery jersey fabric, slightly shaped at the bottom.
But this is their third and probably last summer.
This year's offerings all seem to be high on the Lycra and rather bodycon for me.

Would a tank work for you?

Thanks. These all look a bit clingy. I'm after more loose and boxy...

These are nice! What's this shop like to buy from? I've never heard of it. Are they true to size?

They also do coloured ones in navy, khaki and grey. Not see through. I’ve been wearing with shorts and summer skirts.

Shannith · 13/06/2021 18:43

Cos had some good ones

Or Other Stories has a load that might work - I agree meandem have great ones - OS are cheaper!

ElspethFlashman · 13/06/2021 18:47

You definitely have to check out Next, OP. They're usually very good on things like this.
