Helix piercing too close to edge

Had a low helix piercing today, do you think they've pierced it too close to the edge? I feel like it's pushing the outer edge of my ear out

It looks ok. Remember it will probably be swollen, thus why you feel the pushing out sensation. I'd give it a week or so before you decide whether the positioning is not right. And if so, go back to the original piercer to ask for their advice how to sort it (re-pierce?) Anywhere decent should be happy to help if you're not happy.

It looks okay but I would have preferred it in the dip. How is the back of the labret? Does it stick out too far or is it still hidden by the ear?

TulipVictory · 12/06/2021 22:04

@Brogues there's a lot of the stick of the earring out of the ear if you know what I mean, the back is miles away

The bar has to be long enough to allow for swelling at the minute. You’ll be able to get s as shorter bar when it’s fully healed. Will the disc part be covered by the ear?

I found this photo with similar placement. Maybe it’s just down to personal preference. It’s difficult to judge when you are in the piercing place isn’t it?

I would say slightly yes .. but let it settle and then see how you feel ?

GrimDamnFanjo · 13/06/2021 14:45

I think it's too early to tell yet. Wait until the swelling has gone down. You'll need to go back when this happens anyway to get the bar shortened.

KingPong · 13/06/2021 15:02

I would personally have asked for it in the dip. Did they dot it first and let you look in the mirror for placement?

HandforthParishCouncilClerk · 13/06/2021 22:41

It does look a bit close to the edge to be honest. Here is mine for comparison…

HandforthParishCouncilClerk · 13/06/2021 22:42

Gah let’s try that again

Snap @HandforthParishCouncilClerk mine is in the same place but mine is just lobe up to there so wasn’t a difficult one to heal.

Spied · 14/06/2021 18:31

Yes a little

TulipVictory · 14/06/2021 21:17

To be fair what i asked for is this photo, where the white stud earring is...

Is it still looking the same?

Oblomov21 · 15/06/2021 01:36

In which case, it's in the wrong place. The white earring is clearly on the inside.
I much prefer it on the inside. See how it looks when it's calmed down. Or give them a ring and tell them that you aren't happy.

StarlightLady · 15/06/2021 05:44

OP, l like it. It looks stylish. And l don’t think anyone is going to look at it with the level of detail which we are on here after it settles. So, as long as it’s comfortable ...
