Can I ask what your wardrobe essentials are?

I am in the process of curating my wardrobe to fit my personal style, so I’m no longer just throwing on jeans and a t shirt like I used to.

I’m asking in case I have any gaps that I’ve forgotten about or didn’t think of. Some of my favourite wardrobe essentials are a trench coat, a sweater and neutral trousers.

Pre Covid I would have had a really good answer to this, unfortunately I've let myself go a bit so the answer would now be joggers, t shirts and hoodies.

I think some key things are; good fitting jeans in blue and black, leggings, gym wear, plain v neck t shirts in black, grey and white, long sleeved jersey tops in black and white, a leather jacket, a smart black coat, a cream trench, a light puffa jacket, a blazer or similar, a smart black dress, some blouses/shirts, a mid/knee length plain skirt, round and v neck sweaters in light knits, a chunky sweater, a good selection of belts.
When it comes to summer clothes I'm hopeless though!

I think this is SO dependent on your taste and lifestyle. The list above sounds really lovely, but I wouldn’t wear most of the things on it personally. If I was to start my wardrobe from scratch, off the top of my head, I would want:

Blue and black jeans
Crew necked t-shirts
V-necked chunky cardigans
Crew necked jumpers
Black wide leg cropped trousers/culottes
Black a-line leather mini (ish) skirt
Midi skirts
Midi dresses
Denim jacket
Leather jacket
Parka with hood
Faux fur coat

(Knitted) jumper dresses
Tights
Good quality viscose long sleeved tops with a neckline that flatters your body shape in black, navy, red
Coatigan
Smart well fitting blazer
