Highlights are yellow on top! Help!

I've been waiting to have my hair done since January and of course it's bloody gone wrong! I asked for natural, honey highlights and while I don't dislike the overall colour, the top bits are so bright and yellow and just look naff. When I pull my hair back there is just one luminous blonde streak in the middle.

I've panic bought some Touch of Silver shampoo but toying with just calling the salon tomorrow to ask for them to help blend it more. Will the shampoo help? Will it settle down in a few days?

Yes the purple shampoo will tone that down a lot
Leave it on a good 15-20 mins

I usually try not to look too closely for the first couple of days! It usually calms itself down.

Oh didn't see pic before ! It looks lovely , that's not yellow at all
I've had much more frightening moments in the mirror than that lol
Love the waves too ... beautiful hair

There's nothing wrong with it!

I use this mask, it's amazing. But I agree with a PP, it looks fine to me. But the last time I had my hair highlighted I hated it and thought it looked yellow (hence getting the hair mask) but no one around me could see much of a difference 🤷‍♀️

PAUSE

Put the purple shampoo down now. It will only make your auburn bits more warm, and will make your blonde bits more bright, just more silver in tone. If you don’t like how stark your highlights are now, purple shampoo will only make them more prominent. Is that really what you want? As it sounds like the opposite

Purple shampoo won’t “tone down” your hair. It tones it (full stop) by depositing colour. If you want the blonde to fade, you just need to wash your hair with head and shoulders, which will rinse the toner out.

Frankly I think that individually your highlights are honey toned. It’s the rest of your hair that looks brassy as it’s very warm.

Wow! You have the most beautiful hair 😍

I don't agree .. my hair could be yellow , white , golden or ash and the purple will always tone it down a bit ... seems less "in your face "

As I said before your hair looks lovely
Warm and healthy ... I'd leave it alone

Ahh thanks so much everyone! OK I will hold off on any rash decisions, I haven't had my hair coloured in years and it gave me a fright seeing myself look so different Grin I was hoping for a more subtle look and the bits around my hairline are very bright. I'm kicking myself as I definitely wasn't prescriptive enough when telling the hairdresser what I wanted.

Thanks for the reassuring comments!

I can't see anything wrong with your hair at all. In fact the colour is really really lovely. And you've amazing curls.

It might be because it's been a while since a colour, I know I still get a shock when I get my colour done and I get exactly the same colour all the time.
