The internet wants me to buy crocs

If you look hard enough for validation of your “fashion” choices you can find it. Apparently Crocs are now very stylish… and because I’ve done the odd google to test my appetite for this trend the internet has cottoned on and I’m being bombarded with adverts.
Do I want crocs? Am I just bored?

You're bored. Or suffering some sort of brain inflammation in the heat.

Serpenta · 09/06/2021 17:34

Have you seen these 'beauties'? Balenciaga crocs.

Probably not much change from £800.

I think they might be a cry for help from the Balenciaga designers.

The internet wants you to buy them yet you may find it tricky. Crocs seem to be very very hard to buy right now. Next to impossible !

romdowa · 09/06/2021 17:37

I've seen crocs on my Facebook today and I haven't even been googling them 🤣🤣 I used to love them as slippers though, sadly my dog used to also like to chew them.

Amazon have lots depending on your size. Noticed a few teenage influencers wearing them.

aiwblam · 09/06/2021 18:03

Crocs are lush.
I’d get them!

Orangedaisy · 09/06/2021 18:05

Do you camp, have a garden you wander in and out of (and a shoe free home) or work in a hospital? If so, yes you need crocs. I do the first 2 and love mine. Wore to McDonald’s on way home from camping too last week.

BreakfastOfWaffles · 09/06/2021 18:09

You can't go wrong with a pair of "garden Crocs". So handy for slipping on as you go out.

vjg13 · 09/06/2021 19:14

I have old grey garden only ones but now quite fancy a yellow or orange pair that I might wear out out!

Bananaman123 · 09/06/2021 19:20

I have bright blue ones from a trip to Niagra Falls in 2008, fab for slipping on to put bins out or wear when painting. I also have Disney buttons on them from Florida 08 when we thought we were brilliant walking around in our crocs

AuntMasha · 09/06/2021 19:56

Mine are bright lilac, too wide for my feet which make my feet look ginormous and hideously ugly. They’re comfort’s own self - I love them.

Riapia · 09/06/2021 20:07

I remember DM wearing Scholl sandals when I was young.
They looked really uncomfortable but they were popular at the time.
Not surprised they died the death.

FricasseeTurnips · 09/06/2021 20:11

I love crocs Grin Costco have women's and kids ones in at the moment and some bloke on a FB Costco group asked if they had the mens in too and got his arse handed to him by people saying "give your head a wobble mate" and "you meant to ask for a friend, right?"

30degreesandmeltinghere · 09/06/2021 20:13

I bought a pair of black ones with 50%off a few weeks ago!!
Dd got a white pair!
I am nearly 50!!
Grin
No shame!!

Blueskytoday06 · 09/06/2021 20:36

It really doesn't.

SantiagoSky · 09/06/2021 20:39

Don't buy the original ones for garden crocs. They shrink in the sun!

Aquamarine1029 · 09/06/2021 20:41

I fucking love my Crocs, however I don't wear them in public. I have a pair for inside and a pair for the chicken's yard that never go past the utility room. I'm on my feet a lot and they are very supportive and comfortable. I can't walk around barefoot or just in socks as it hurts my feet after a while.

dorangme · 09/06/2021 21:46

I've just bought a pair ☺️.

I bought them for a camping trip & they are so comfy!

And yes I was bombarded with adverts & spent a lot of time at the hospital in the last few months so it was impossible to escape.

Marjoriesdoor · 09/06/2021 22:05

@Serpenta I just had to Google the Balenciaga trainers because a 20-something recommended them on another thread on here and now I see this! Equally hideous and expensive! Thank you! I wonder if their design team are playing an elaborate game of dare. “What’s the shittest shoe you can draw and then con people out of good money for?” “Hold my drink.”

WineGetsMeThroughIt · 09/06/2021 22:06

Please don't.

Pretty please!

Just don't. They're fugly as always

JaneJeffer · 09/06/2021 22:13

I love my crocs but only around the house although my 22 year old told me last week that I'm now on trend Grin

TheDogsMother · 09/06/2021 22:36

Crocs should be banned

mizu · 10/06/2021 07:38

Jane - you are on trend. My 16 year old is wearing a lime green pair Grin and sometimes with socks Shock

Caramellatteplease · 10/06/2021 07:47

Crocs are great "putting out the bins" shoes. I have a pair of non crocs crocs for "I'm sitting in the garden" shoes

DS who has SN and needs supportive shoes, has a "I'm not walking anywhere today so mum doesn't want to wrestle putting my boots on" crocs. They are also good for that.

I'm not sure I'd pick them as "I want something good looking on my feet" shoes!!!Grin
