This is my favourite- outfit 1.

Outfit 2 navy linen dress in need of an iron and it is a bit low cut. I might need a cami with it. It is somehow too big and too small. Cool in this weather.

Definitely 2

NellietheNumpty · 09/06/2021 09:02

Outfit 3. Is this a bit casual? Both sets of trousers are part of suits. I have lots of jackets but just off to all day meetings so I can't show you or reply until later.
HELP.

Number 2 looks lovey and professional.

Number 1 looks a bit baggy/scruffy with the shirt not tucked in like that, but it might just be the angle of the photo Smile

LadyDanburysHat · 09/06/2021 09:04

1 is too casual looking. 2 is much more interview appropriate.

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 09/06/2021 09:04

2 is much smarter - 1 looks like the sort of outfit lots of women wear to work every day, which isn’t really smart. If you like outfit 1, what about smartening it up with a jacket?

Also, have you any smarter shoes? Not necessarily heels, but not round-toed ballet pumps.

LazyMareofEastown · 09/06/2021 09:04

Definitely the dress.

Outfit one looks loose and a bit scruffy.

The dress looks very smart and interview appropriate.

LadyDanburysHat · 09/06/2021 09:05

3 looks really nice, smarter than 2

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 09/06/2021 09:05

If you go for trousers, go with the charcoal ones!

Hoppinggreen · 09/06/2021 09:06

I think 2 might be a bit low and short be honest
The other 2 are ok but your trousers are a bit long and the shoes aren’t great
Sorry

dudsville · 09/06/2021 09:07

The dress looks best. The tops are nice but the trousers make the look too casual, tucked into would look better, but into different trousers (the pool of fabric at your ankle makes them casual, unless you planned on a heel?) Or tucked into a skirt.

Good luck!

Soontobe60 · 09/06/2021 09:09

Actually, I wouldn’t go for the dress! Although we can’t tell from the photo, you said it’s low cut and may need a cami, also it’s fairly short - it will ride up when you sit down and may make you feel a bit self conscious. Also, if it’s linen it might look like a creased rag by the time you get to the interview!
I’d go for outfit 1.

UnreasonablyPissedOff · 09/06/2021 09:29

No 3 with better shoes
The dress is too short
No 1 is too baggy all round
Try tucking your shirts in & wearing a nice leather belt & dresser shoes whichever trousers you wear
Good luck with the interview!

Losttheequipment · 09/06/2021 09:33

Definitely 3

I think the dress is too short for an interview. Does it ride up when you sit down?

idontlikealdi · 09/06/2021 09:34

the dress

Seainasive · 09/06/2021 09:36

3! That top is lovely

HoldontoOneMoreDay · 09/06/2021 09:39

The dress is nice but OMG don't wear linen to an interview if you're not going straight there (and standing up on the bus to get there). It'll look like a crumpled tissue by the time you get to the interview.

OldTinHat · 09/06/2021 09:44

Not no.1. No.2 is very smart and I also like no.3 as a backup (in case you eat toast and melted butter drips on it...not speaking from experience at all...!). I hope the interview goes well!

HeidiHighLow · 09/06/2021 09:46

3

Spied · 09/06/2021 09:49

Outfit 3.The best. Smart but comfortable.
Outfit 1 would be second choice
Outfit 2 just doesn't look professional somehow. You can see it doesn't fit well either and it doesn't look like you'll be comfortable and at your best in it.

NellietheNumpty · 09/06/2021 18:20

Thanks for all your comments. I will get back to them in a bit.
I have a massive presentation to put together this evening for the interview. I am meeting a new foster child tomorrow, I am away at the weekend and there is appraisal at work Monday as well as a major family birthday. So all help much needed and appreciated.

@TooExtraImmatureCheddar
@Hoppinggreen
You are so right about the length of the trousers and the scruffy shoes. Both suits and the trousers are at least 20 years old. I have put on different ones for the next photos.
@Soontobe60 @HoldontoOneMoreDay. You are so right about linen. The forecast is sizzling at the place is a good drive. The dress has been abandoned.

@UnreasonablyPissedOff. You are now my style advisor. So please help again. I have then must start writing.
@Seainasive. This is a lovely silk Boden top with my cheap Tesco trousers, better heels, tucked in and a belt.

Outfit 2 mark 2.
This is grey trousers tucked in. They seem to be tighter than they were 20 years ago! I can rehem them if I need to.
