wide feet size 3 - help

My DS has very wide feet and I am at a complete loss on how to find him shoes that don't give him blisters. He is currently in a 3, but is getting sore bits on the sides of his feet as his trainers are too small. But I'm reluctant to go up to a 4 as even the 3s are a little long for him. Does anyone know of a good place to get wide trainers? He is too big for Clarks as by size 3 they are no longer doing widths. He was always off the scale anyway! I don't mind if they are women's shoes, as long as they are black(ish) trainers. Please help!

Plimsolls rather than trainers (converse-style), but Rocket Dog have a style that's wider fitting (check before buying- they do some that are narrower, some that are wide, it's obvious when you have them in your hands).

I have size 3, very wide feet (I basically fill a pair of crocs :D), and Rocket Dog plimsolls fit me better than most shoes.

The other shoes i buy that fit are Asics - really wide front bit (is that the toe box?) - best fitting trainers I've ever bought - I don't know what the child/male fit is, but the womens I have are fantastic (and blue/orange)

I’ve got wide small feet - the kids trainers at M&S are great.
