Low top (?) white trainers

I'm in my fifties, love the midi dress trainers look, particularly comfort wise on my poor bunion raddled feet! However said feet are size 7 and I just feel they look too big with normal cut trainers. I much prefer lower cut plimsoll types in the Converse ballet lace style similar to these as they just make my legs look better and my feet feel smaller!

I'd love a leather/faux leather pair though as my cheaply Sainsbury's version are already filthy. I know converse do a dainty trainer but it doesn't look that low on screen. Anyone got any recommendations?

@TheMotherlode that style looks perfect, it's just the canvas putting me off. Somebody spilled red wine on my cheapies last weekend - not a big issue when they were £8 but £55 I might have been a bit more cross! I'll do more research on that brand though so thanks

Converse have some leather type ones in atm and they do widefit too now if they would fit better?

Have you looked at Veja, theirs are very stylish and they do some lower plimsoll type ones. They’re not leather, but the same effect (think they’re made out of some kind of vegan material).
They do take a bit of wearing in as they’re not as soft as proper leather, nice shoes though.

Looks like they actually do a leather version of the superga trainer. Wish I had known this before I bought the canvas ones as they are a nightmare to keep clean!

@TheMotherlode oh perfect! I did have a look but didn't see those for some reason. Just done my current cheapies to get the wine off and seems to have worked fingers crossed but these superga look to be a good investment. How's the sizing? I'm 6.5 in some, 7 in others.

I've worn the converse ones you linked to for years. BUT I bought a pair of the white ones this year and sent them straight back - the quality of materials and stiching compared to previous pairs was shocking, and the fit had changed so they were all wide and baggy.

I ended up getting this Lacoste Ziane pair instead, and love them. They come in navy canvas, white canvas and white leather. There is also a Ziane 'Chunky' model, but I didn't like those as much.

Shop around (incluidng ebay), because you can probably find a pair in your size cheaper than the ones in the link. Think I paid ~£40 for mine.
