I saw this on a different thread a while ago and I still haven’t closed the tab! Really like it.

Question: suitability for a wedding 1st October (my niece). Haven’t been to a wedding for 20 years...

No idea how to style it though. Help.

Lovely print and shape, OP. Will you be outside much, and what if it’s cold on 1st October? What’ll you put on top? But I love it too!!

Love it but it is very summery and I agree with PP that October 1 could be chilly. Maybe another poster will have good ideas but I can’t imagine what you could put over it that wouldn’t dress it down or look weird. I reckon buy it, where it as much as poss this summer, but find something a bit more autumnal for the wedding.

Mrgrinch · 07/06/2021 20:07

Looks too casual to me. Although a beautiful summer outfit. What size are you, what colour/length suits you?

motogogo · 07/06/2021 20:09

Nice, ideal for a mostly outdoor summer wedding but in October you might be better off with something that is ok with tights. Also check with the bride, weddings very so much from guests in formal structured outfits and hats (think royal wedding) to loose fitting flowing dresses and open neck shirts for men as the norm, and personally I like to fit in style wise

Bluntness100 · 07/06/2021 20:11

It’s pretty, but it’s very casual. The sort of thing you’d wear to a mates bbq. Is it a very casual wedding?

socalledfriend · 07/06/2021 20:26

I love it but agree with PP that

  1. It's too casual
  2. Unsuitable for October

Sorry.

StevieKnickerbockerglory · 07/06/2021 20:33

Oh it's lovely! But agree, depending on wedding, it could look a bit casual...but with the right accessories etc, could be fine.

Also think it may be a little chilly, depending on where the wedding is.

Snooks1971 · 07/06/2021 20:35

Oh blimey. Thank you everyone. This is I guess why I haven’t pressed the Buy button. I have no idea what to go for.

It’s a small country house type place.
I’m regrettably a size 14 (before anyone accuses me of body shaming etc, I’ve always been a 12 and have crept up this last 12 months.) I haven’t the mojo or motivation to lose weight atm, that’s another thread.

I’m recently 50, but a young 50 if that makes sense (aren’t we all!)

Thanks @motogogo good point. I do have a lovely relationship with my niece though (the bride) and we both rub along well clothes wise. Good point though, think I will see what other family guests are wearing. Thank you!
