Summer trousers / shorts and cool tops?

Cool as in keeps you cool, I am not at all cool.

I need some lightweight trousers, maybe slim harem pants type things that are comfortable but keep you call.

Would also really like some shorts but I’m short and stumpy and the ones I’ve tried on look awful.

Where do you shop for this sort of thing these days? I’m 5’2”, size 14, wobbly tummy but my calves are reasonable 😬

I have next jersey joggers and they were only £16 a pair. So comfy and cool and wash well and much better quality than my stupidly expensive hush harems that grow with each wear and have holes in. So happy with them I bought four pairs!

I am 5ft 4 and got the petite ones. Just a little above my ankle

Trousers from peacocks and oh my god, I’ll never take them off, lovely elastic waistband that is never too tight, so thin but not seethrough, look lovely on, flattering even though I’m only 5ft and size 14 also.

They’re so nice my mum asked me to go back and get her a pair 😂

I always struggle for summer trousers but I got some poplin trousers from George and love them! (Search poplin trousers)

For shorts - denim boy shorts from next are reliable and comfy- if a bit ubiquitous

My favourite ever pair were also from peacocks!

I’m also short, about your height. Size 12 (ish!)
No matter what shorts I tried on, I looked like a bloke! So I gave up and made my own denim cut-offs from old jeans.

I got some Girlfriend Khakis from a local Gap outlet last week, which were £19.99. So not on the main website.
Cotton (so light and cool), good length, and good price. But only helpful if you have a Gap outlet I’m afraid!

All cotton chinos from m&s, £19.99. got the short length so they look cropped. They've also got them in a nice striped cotton but the fabric is a bit thicker. Find them a lot cooler than full length.

Thanks so much everyone, will check all these out - could also do with something to wear under dresses / long tops as no matter what I do I seem to show my backside if I so much as try to bend. I have some really nice jersey dresses knee length I never wear because of this!
