A really scrubby but non-oily body scub

I'd like a body scrub that has lots of scrubby bits in it. It needs to be non-oily as my skin isn't great with oil.

Ooh following. They are often really greasy or waxy.

QueenPaw · 05/06/2021 15:49

I like grounded range or frank body, they're the coffee type ones. Messy but effective!
Some small businesses do the foaming sugar scrub ones which I love but my fave has stopped trading Sad

QueenPaw · 05/06/2021 15:53

These type ones

I make my own.

Coffee grinds from our morning drink, collected for a couple of days.

Mix it with a lashing of extra virgin coconut oil or olive oil. If you don’t like oil, you can use milk, buttermilk or yogurt. Sit out in the sun and scrub it all over. Bliss

MissBattleaxe · 05/06/2021 19:54

I just tried Le Jardin Retrouve Tubereuse Trianon body scrub and it was absolutely amazing. It has castor balls that do their job and dissolve harmlessly. It left my hands and elbows soft as a baby's bottom. They're in Paris but ship to the UK. Small family business too.

Miseryisabutterfly · 05/06/2021 20:29

I really like the soap and glory ones

Wizzbangfizz · 05/06/2021 20:30

The dove ones are nice.

Miseryisabutterfly · 05/06/2021 20:30

Flake away is the one I use. Great before tanning!

thinkfast · 05/06/2021 20:36

Have you tried a Korean Italy towel? Much more scrubby than a scrub. And no oil as you just use with hot water. You need to clean your bath afterwards though....so much skin comes off

PenOrPencil · 05/06/2021 20:40

Sugar, salt or coffee grounds (messy!) mixed with your usual shower gel are really scrubby.

taffetty · 06/06/2021 11:03

Lots of options to try, thanks everyone!

Shame you don't like the oil
I absolutely love the Superdrug Vit E sugar oil body scrub
Such good value , lovely smell and good results
Dove do a gentle non oily scrub too but I didn't really like the smell

icelollycraving · 06/06/2021 11:47

L’Occitane almond shower scrub for gentle exfoliation, also the almond soap is exfoliating and very rigorous.

Bloodyfuckit · 06/06/2021 11:59

The yellow garnier one was the best but it's now discontinued and I've never found a good one since.

jannyapple · 06/06/2021 12:04

I remember that one @Bloodyfuckit
Loved it !

MintyCedric · 06/06/2021 12:05

Palmers cocoa butter scrub, creamy rather than oily, lots of scrubby bits and smells delicious!

StuffinThePuffin · 06/06/2021 12:07

St Ives apricot facial scrub. Just don't actually use it on your face.

Chesneyhawkes1 · 06/06/2021 12:08

I use the Palmers one now. The yellow Garnier one was so good. Bring it back!

Kjr33 · 06/06/2021 12:30

The Korean Italy towel is amazing, I personally don’t get loads of skin coming off like others do, maybe I’m too gentle? But I do get really baby smooth soft skin after using it. Also it’s super cheap and re-useable and sometimes I use the cloth’s as deep cleaning rags to clean around the house when I’m done with them.

GuyFawkesDay · 06/06/2021 12:43

Lush ocean salt. Amazing. Smells absolutely delicious too (minty/Herby).

Korean Italy towels definitely too

Bloodyfuckit · 06/06/2021 12:54

I remember that one *@Bloodyfuckit* Loved it !
It was fantastic. Everything else is either too gentle or too oily or too expensive. The Dove ones in a tub are ok ish but nothing compares to the garnier one.
FlyingLoo · 06/06/2021 13:00

Dirty works foaming sugar scrub is lovely. It does have oil in it but isn’t very oily ....i don’t think so anyway. Available in Sainsburys.

Tomatobear · 06/06/2021 15:13

St Ives isn't oily and seems good

taffetty · 06/06/2021 16:14

Yes, the Garnier Body Tonic one in the yellow tube was the one I used to use, loved it as it had lots of scrubby bits in it, wasn't oily and was cheap too.

My holy grail of body scrubs is Soap & Glory the scrub of your life. I always come back to it as it is by far the best one I’ve ever used. I found the occitane almond one in a tube very ineffective (I like a scrubby scrub too) and although I love the smell of the white company ones, especially Seychelles, they’re not scrubby enough for me either.
