Stoma tops

Just had an emergency ileostomy.,centrally fitted, so belly button height with bag covering. I’m still a bit (a lot) chunky but will be on very low dose steroids soon so weight will shift.
Looking for some nice tops to cover the bag but not wildly expensive they will hopefully be transitional! Obviously need to be washable and not in anyway see through!

H&M and new look I’d say. Although if it was me I wouldn’t buy any just yet as with steroids you’ll most likely gain weight not lose it. Also sounds daft but look at maternity jeans and pants. My best friends got a stoma and she lives in them as the waistband belt helps keep her bag in place.

Thank you!
Still in hospital, hopefully home today and then start ordering stuff!

Hi I had an ileostomy for 7 years. Though it wasnt quite as high up as yours the best thing I found was high wasted spanx body control things that would flatten it down and made it feel secure. A tight fitting body with poppers may be an option as well. I used to get mine from primark and m and s. I enjoyed wearing slim fitting clothing and that way I didnt have to change my wardrobe.
I had the ileostomy reversed last year and now how a pretty normal life with a j pouch.

Hi, good luck OP that must be both stressful but also perhaps a relief if it helps your symptoms.

H&M have some great oversized tops. Also you might like tops that are smock, wrap, or kimono style. Will cinch in just below boob and then flare out so might give you confidence shape wise too.

Husband had a stoma for a few years, you can buy a belt thing that covers them if you think that may help, just google stoma bands/belts.

A friend has several pure cotton or linen White Stuff tops that are either loose fitting or fitted below the bust and flare out. I think her bag might be lower than yours but worth checking. And they have regular discounts.

I hope everything goes well for you.

Uniqlo is good. They have some print collaborations like with Marimekko if you want something patterned.
