Where to look for 'nice' tops

Hello MN, seeking your style advice! I'm looking for nice tops to wear with jeans and heels for socialising - think drinks with friends / date night, that kind of thing. Brands on my list are:

  • Reiss
  • Whistles
  • Cost
  • Oasis
  • & Other Stories

Happy to spend up to £75 on nice tops but looking for materials that aren't polyester and have a bit more of a luxe look and feel to them.

If it makes a difference, i'm 5'2 and a curvy size 10.

Thank you!

It's getting harder and harder to find non-polyester 'nice' tops. Personally, I love a silk blouse, and over the years have bought from Cos, Massimo Dutti, & Other Stories, and Equipment (this one secondhand on eBay).

I'm no good with textures sorry, but I wonder from your list if you'd like Anthropologie?

mumjustmum · 04/06/2021 13:16

Also Jigsaw

UnreasonablyPissedOff · 04/06/2021 13:18

I like to browse on
Whistles
Anthropologie
Wyse
Sezane
Jigsaw
Paul Smith
Noa Noa
Boden

I'm currently trying to decide if I can justify this on a T-shirt, but I really like these silk tops is a simple t shirt style. Classic and understated but the t short style gives it a bit of "youth" IMO.

I'm trying to find a cheaper version which doesn't look to shiny and satin-y!

Extrapepperoni · 04/06/2021 13:45

Thanks all! Adding to my list of 'nice top shops'! Keep them coming...

@Hereforthedramaz - £97 for what is fundamentally a t-shirt is hard yards! Good luck!! It is pretty though and would be effortlessly chic. Would want to be haha...

Not sure if Land's End is your vibe but they do mostly natural materials.

Also check maje, sandro, the kooples

eveylikesv · 04/06/2021 15:05

Me+Em, Brora have some really nice tops made from natural, quality fabrics. Me+Em is more trendy and they have several tops I have been eyeing up. Also Paul Smith on sales, their t-shirts are made from really nice, thick (but not sweaty) cotton. They are very casual.

UniBallEye · 04/06/2021 15:37

ME+EM
Wolf and Badger
Avoca

MissyB1 · 04/06/2021 16:05

Anthropologie I was so tempted by a top in there the other day, but too pricey for me. Will have to go a birthday present.

It looks even better in real life.

LaBellina · 04/06/2021 16:07

Repeat cashmere do lovely silk tshirts but they might be more then £75.

Also, Compagnia Italia and Tara Jarmon.

NotMeNoNo · 04/06/2021 16:08

The M&S Autograph silk T-shirts are really nice, I've tried one on before.

You could look for sandwashed silk if you don't want a shiny finish.
