Plus size plain shorts for a dumpling

I'm only 152cms and a size 22 with a small waist, round tummy and decent but big bum and strong legs. Do shorts exist that won't draw attention to my chunkiness and look smart but casual or am I destined to just wear skirts for another summer? I have also tried capris but find them very tight fitting which doesn't do me any favours at all. Much prefer natural fabrics too.

Have you thought about play suit shorts if you have a narrow waist? They are also much more suited for shorter people.

If not I'd look at tailored high waisted shorts. Next have some with a pleat front and they are very comfortable and also smart. Can be dressed down or up.

I’m 5 2 and a very booby and ‘hippy’ size 14 and I won’t wear shorts-I think they are very unflattering on my shape and make me look like a barrel. I look much better in skirts and dresses.

I got these in pink and stone last year. High waisted and extremely comfortable. Nice fit as well and I'm slim waist and big bum shaped too!

I was going to say a play suit or culottes. Generally they are made from lighter material and are a bit looser.

No one cares what your legs look like OP, just wear the shorts. Life is too (ahem) short.
