I'm looking for summer dresses and skirts but not feeling inspired!
Tell me what you've been buying, or looking to buy. Pictures would be great. I need inspiration!

This is the Oliver Bonas one:

The Sezane one is called Zoey and I got it in Russian Doll Print, which is a lovely print. I just checked their website though and it doesn't look like it's there anymore. I only bought it a couple of weeks ago! Must have been popular. It is very nice and flattering (I've gained weight and this makes me feel less hefty, which is a miracle Grin). Worth looking for similar on there maybe, it's a wrap dress with snug waistband and looser skirt and top.

Here's a pic of it (sadly not me in the photo Grin)

I bought quite a few clothes earl on and still have not worn most of them. Long tiered skirt and grungy T shirt from Hush. Printed dungaree dress and white t shirt from White Stuff, stripey dress from Boden. I have an unworn summer print dress from The Fold from ast year, unworn, and a lovely bright blue dress from Plumo, also as yet unworn. I think I might have to get very dressed up for the hairdresers this week to make a start on them!

Yep @ExConstance! I'm in the same boat. Got dressed up for my covid jab BlushGrin
A couple of tops/long dresses from Wicked Dragon, other than that nothing, still carrying lockdown weight and nowhere to go really www.wickeddragon.co.uk/patchwork-flared-dress-with-sleeves.html#
I love wicked dragon and have just received a order from them of 2 dresses and a pair of short dungarees (wearing the dungarees now).

Love the Oliver Bonas dress @TortoiseShed, gorgeous print and colours, I never look there for clothes (home stuff, yes!) but I definitely will now. Will report back on the pink blazer, I've ordered the trousers too, 2 sizes for both as reviews say it comes up bug. I may crop the trousers, wear with Zara ankle wrap courts, black cami and big black mad fascinator for a wedding in Oct.

Lan2020 · 04/06/2021 10:17

@TortoiseShed I really like both of those dresses.

I bet the Sezane one looks better on someone with a fuller figure than the model. I mean she does look great but clothes sometimes 'hang' better on a fuller figure. I'm a size 8 but have big(ish) boobs and find clothes look very different on me than the model.
I'm debating a few items at the moment but can't decide...

I also like this ghost dress...well I like the top because I want some shorter sleeve dresses for the summer but not sure about the length as I'm only 5ft2
I like the blue from Ghost at Marks but all their dresses are out of stock!

I love pink and black together! I want the jacket for over jeans or over dresses. I couldn't find any reviews of it and wanted to know how it fitted, so that's good to know it comes up big, thanks.

Ninkanink · 04/06/2021 10:23

So far, very little. One Whistles dress, one pair of M&S chinos.

Am planning two more pairs of easy-wear trousers, one more knee length dress, one maxi dress.

All off eBay.👍👍

torquewench · 04/06/2021 10:29

I seem to be obsessed with playsuits and jumpsuits at the moment, Ive bought 3 this week, one from Whistles and two more casual ones from White Stuff. As a bonus I ve realised that this also does away with the chub rub that I suffer in summer when wearing a skirt or dress without tights, and as 2 of them are quite a slim fit, theyre more flattering as they make me look thinner than any summery/floaty dress 😎

torquewench · 04/06/2021 10:35

@RampantIvy

Don't get me wrong. I love clothes shopping, but I prefer to go shopping and see, feel and try clothes on rather than shop online. I just don't have enough wardrobe space for any more clothes, I work from home and rarely go out, so I don't need more clothes.
Same here, although I hate that most high street stuff I seem to feel is rough, sweat inducing polyester. And I look hideous in most fitting rooms thanks to their unflattering lighting. I was in Bravissimo last week trying on a few items, directly under a very bright, unforgiving spotlight. I went home without buying anything and promptly spent £200+ on the above-mentioned playsuits, plus a work dress and T shirt online when I got home to cheer myself up 🙄
Iamsodonewith2020 · 04/06/2021 10:39

2 mango dresses as recommended on Mumsnet, a hush maxi skirt and joules casual t shirts in about 6 different colours!

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 04/06/2021 11:21

I tend not to buy much in summer because it isn't especially warm here - I'm currently in a four year old midi dress from ASOS that still looks great! Thus far I have bought some t-shirts from Joanie, and a couple of pairs of jeans from Levi's (which I will be able to wear all year round, obviously). Once we get into A/W I get so excited about shopping as I know everything will be worn regularly.

MrsMaizel · 04/06/2021 12:05

I see a link up there to a Miss Ruby website - so many of these people now selling clothes from home . I have an acquaintance who does this They get cheap clothes from China etc and resell .

I’m back to report on some of the things up thread. The M&S tiered halter neck dresses are nice but come up big so size down. The red one is going back as it washes me out. Ditto the Mango dresses, which are lovely, but I only needed a 10 (usually a 10 top/12 bottom)

Oly4 · 04/06/2021 13:30

Sorry wrong thread!

@torquewench I’m obsessed with them too. Ridiculously so! Maybe there is a jump/playsuit anonymous group we could attend! 😳
