Shampoo bars

Switched to these at the start of this year after trying some travel size Ethique ones from a beauty advent calendar. Really impressed although irritated that after a few weeks (using 4ish times a week and keeping in a soap tray away from water flow) they started to break up meaning they became fiddly to use. I put this down to them being heart shaped (just, why?!!) and bit the bullet spending £24 on full size versions of the shampoo and conditioner. The full size are a sensible rectangle.

The shampoo has just broke after about 5 weeks use Sad it cost £12 which is waaaay more than I've ever spent on a bottle. I can still try to use it but it's so fiddly and messy and is hard to prevent it breaking further. Plus I'm sure since I've had them my shower drain has needed more cleaning, as if it doesn't quite break down properly (the irony).

Suffice to say I'm not buying bloody Ethique again ... any recommendations ?

Not the poster you asked but I hate the bottle version of their shampoo but love the bar version. I’ve not tried their conditioner bars yet.

That was for @luxurychocolate I’m not sure why the quote function didn’t work.

Thanks brogues. Will try them out.

I find it's really important to let them dry. Dh has his own bar and we each keep then in a soap dish open to air on a shelf away from the bath.
The eco warrior is a really good one, that's the one I misremembered as the friendly soap co.

I recommend the Funky Soap company

The shampoo bars last ages and are well priced, I have been using their products for years.

I'm trying Gruum but have only used it once (shampoo lathers up nicely, but the conditioner is hard work) - but for those who say it leaves residue, how can you tell ?

Wow so many replies! Thanks everyone for posting.

I definitely liked how Ethique left my hair but as I say for the price I was disappointed at them breaking up as I won't be able to use the small pieces that break away.

I'm going to try Eco Warrior next - such a good price in comparison - and then work my way through these recommendations.

Thanks again Smile
