Bad haircut, feel so disappointed.

I had my hair cut two weeks ago and I really hate it.
I spent ages growing out some bad layers so it was quite long and fairly even in length.
My old salon closed recently so I went to one recommended by a friend.
The stylist took plenty of time with me and I thought she knew what I wanted and to be fair I do like the colour. But the cut is awful.
I am very short sighted and without my glasses and seated back from the mirror I couldn't really see what she was doing. I had asked for long layers around my face and told her my hair can look bulky and full which I dont like so she talked about using layers to take the weight out.
She spent ages and ages on the blow dry and I thought it looked good but I realise now she was probably trying to hide the bad cut. It's like two different hairstyles, a short bob sat on top of longer hair.
It does the opposite of what I asked for.
The layers are so short all the way around that I can't see how it could be fixed.
Is it worth going back?
Not sure why I'm even posting, I just need to vent I think.

:( I feel your pain, I remember posting on here a few years ago, saying pretty much the same.

Yes go back .. you might have to sacrifice some length to get it sorted but better that than feeling rubbish for ages.

My hair is now half way down my back because I don't trust anyone to do more than trim the layers!

Thanks Medusa. I'll think about going back. I spent more than I usually do so it's very disappointing.
I think I can make it look a little better by using the straighteners but i have highlights and am worried about drying it out too much if i straighten it after every wash.
