Perfect tops to go with long tiered maxi skirts

I have a few of these types of skirts but nothing to go with. Looking for suggestions for perfect vest tops/Bardot/fitted scoop necks anything really. As the skirts are patterned the tops need to be plain colours...

Uniqlo will have options for you. I have the high neck “cropped” vests and think they look amazing in a minimalist way. They are cropped for the older generation so the bottom hits your waist so if your skirt sits there you’ll be ok.

What age does this 'older generation' start?
I wear linen or cotton t shirts - j crew or Cos or cotton jumpers from Free People with my patterned skirts ( maxis usually ). I have to say I've never found anything nice at Uniqlo but my kids love it.

I often wear them with a slightly cropped top.

I'm not sure if they are older generation approved though.

I would think you mean cropped to the waist not cropped as teenagers might wear cropped under the bust.

I have a lovely long skirt in a sort of Aztec design with different shades of blue and white. I think it would look great with a pure white crisp shirt but I would probably end up looking a disheveled mess.

Zara has some nice 100% cotton tiered maxi skirts. They usually do for summer. I wear mine with fairly high necked linen vests. For some reason I find t-shirts with maxi skirts looks wrong, on me at least. Kind of staid when I want more of a boho vibe. If the t-shirt was fitted and cropped, this wouldn't be the case, but I'm a teacher so sleeveless tops is as far as I can push it.

Watching with interest as my waist sits at my 'natural waist', whereas most tops seem to hit me at wannabe-tunic length.

Usually you need to balance out the volume on the top and bottom - so voluminous skirt/trousers needs a fitted/close fitting top, and vice-versa. Hence why violating this makes anyone look like either a tent or a sausage.

I normally size up one or two sizes when I buy long skirts so that they sit low on my hips. That top would be a bit short for me. At least for work.

Joe Browns have some nice tops that go with some more flowery skirts - think they're called milkmaid tops?

Omg I have the crop for the aged in 3 different colours, plus the t-shirt version. Now I feel about a 100, so thanks for that! I have to admit they are very flattering though. My other go to is a body in a plain t-shirt style. ASOS have good ones.

I have big boobs and I find a tight vest looks best Gap do nice thick ones. Needs to be a decent weight jersey If your worried about arms then pop a cropped cardi over or a denim jacket.
