What sort of person/clinic do I look for?

What letters should they have after their name?

Is there some sort of official directory of these people?

GP has referred my dd for free removal.

I had some facial moles removed last year. I went to a plastic surgeon. Cost £550 for 3. Happy to pass on the details if you want. He does clinics in various locations.
I think if you want the scars to be minimal then a plastic surgeon is your best bet. I had mine excised I.e. cut out and stitched. He offered options of shaving and laser also but I wanted to be sure they wouldn't grow back.

@Aprilwasverywet what was the criteria for being referred, do you know?

@emsyj37 yes please, I would love the contact details.

At the optician she was advised to get it checked out. GP agreed it needed to go.

Do you have a Sk:n clinic near you OP? I had a few removed earlier this year. Cost around £200 each. This was shave removal and they have healed up perfectly, you wouldn't know anything was ever there .

I need a small 'venous lake' removing so would be interested in any recommendations.

I also went to a private plastic surgeon for a blade removal - he did a very good job. I’d recommend spending if you can.

In my experience (as an adult), the NHS won’t remove ones on the face and you have to go private.

Thanks @emsyj37, I’ve replied to you.

@BlackCatsRule88 yes I’m kind of thinking I need to sort it myself.

Plastic surgeon defo - I had one removed by excision from my naso-Labial fold and there is literally no scar. Had another on my hairline removed by shaving and now it just looks like a freckle. No need to get referred by a GP but do research the surgeon very well to make sure they have a good history in max/facs

I had a lesion removed from my nose by a plastic surgeon, the gp would have referred me as it needed to be removed as potentially malignant. I had to have it cut out, so I paid to see someone I trusted to do a good job.
