Evening all!
I have ghd straighteners but just can't grasp the technique of curling my hair with them. I've also got a lee Stafford curling wand but it's too thick for my pixie style hair. I also seem to burn my fingers with it!
Can anyone recommend me a curling wand/tool/device please!
Thank you :)

I'm the same! Hairdressers have shown me so many times and I just can't do it! X

It looks so easy to curl with a straightener but when I try it goes straight!Hmm then I end up going over the same bit and damaging my hair

Try to not do it in freshly washed hair. Straighteners are definitely easier than curlers IMO, look at Brad mondo on you tube xx

Thank you!
I was thinking with a curler though that they have a clamp thing to hold the end of the hair then curl up, thought that would be easier? I've never used one so not sure though

They never work on my hair unfortunately and if they do they don’t hold!

I use ghd soft tong....i have very long hair and the curls stay

Rina66 · 31/05/2021 23:06

I have the GHD tong too, I like it because it has a clamp, so holds your hair to the tong. Smooth, frizz free curls that really last - it's very quick too due to its high temp - my poor poor hair 😂

Thank you! Can I ask what products you use on your hair too please?

I use Lee Stafford magic curl spray, watched a tonne of YouTube videos and practiced loads when I wasn’t actually going anywhere and I’ve figured it out now.

A lot of it is in the angle you get the straighteners at, and just practice.

CeeCeeEnnEss · 01/06/2021 07:08

You’ve got to clamp the hair in the straighteners, twist it (away from your face), and then glide it through. If it’s coming out straight you’re not twisting it far enough. Mine needs a good half turn. If it’s coming out a ringlet it’s a bit too far, but it depends on what you like.

Got that wrong, it’s Mark Hill curl hold spray

GHD heat protection spray for me, feels light, smells lovely, not alcoholy, which is my pet peeve in hair products. I always find there's alcohol near the top of the ingredients list which just dries my hair out.

Cuently use a lee Stafford spray when using straighteners and usually a but of hair spray once hair is styled straight. Is it the same with a curl, hairspray to hold it or something else?
Do you think maybe inchould try with the straighteners again? Looking at the curling wands and I do want one but I think it'll only get used about once a month, if that! Also there seems to be a few different ghd curling tongues, I presume they're different widths?
