Is this jacket nice?

Hello - I've had a Barbour Liddesdale for years and I can't decide whether to keep it or charity-shop it. I'm so out of touch with fashion these days that I can't decide whether it's a classic, or whether it's frumpy and signalling the start of my descent into middle-age!

Mind you, I'm 41; maybe I'm there already . . .

The photo isn't me, obviously, I just can't be bothered to go all the way upstairs to take a photo Grin

Is this jacket nice?

I'd hold onto that. Not sure I'd call it classic but it's a useful piece to have if you've got the space. I held onto some of my mum's Barbour things and though I wouldn't wear them now I do think I'd regret getting rid of them.

I'd keep it, it's quite a simple piece that fits well.

I think it’s very ‘horsey’ but not necessarily frumpy or ageing. Just the sort of thing posh people wear... Do I think it looks stylish or classic? Not at all. Is it offensive? Also no. It’s just fine.

It's very equestrian school run .. it isn't n fashion per se but I guess would keep you dry . It's definitely not fashionable but Im sure you know that really .

RedPandaFluff · 31/05/2021 09:46

Hmmm . . . so, it's inoffensive, rather than nice? Grin

Maybe it's one to get rid of. Now that "horsey/equestrian" is in my head, and I'm not horsey at all, I can't imagine ever wearing it again! Thanks, all.

We need to see it on you! I think that the styling in the photo, whilst perfectly nice, is a bit posh and horsey somehow. If your style is different it might look totally different on you.

You'll have to get it from upstairs either way - so you may as well take a photo Grin
