Zara says 'The Future is Now'

I've just seen Zara's latest collection and am sitting here scratching my head wondering WHY!?!

www.zara.com/uk/en/woman-new-in-l1180.html

I know it's a collab with Purple magazine, but it's so far out there for most of the general population it just leaves me wondering who actually buys and wears this stuff? Especially now with covid and everything being so much more relaxed. I just feel like stuff like this is such a waste of resources and will eventually be tossed into a landfill.

Good God, what a collection!! Agree with it a load of tat that will end up in landfill. Depressing really.

gottakeeponmovin · 29/05/2021 11:18

I love it

LunaNorth · 29/05/2021 11:45

Well, I for one will be rocking a floral catsuit and matching swimming cap at the first available opportunity.

I want to see that black top (with the yellow suit) on its own - looks like it would get very uncomfortable.

gagrag · 29/05/2021 12:00

They will have been tiny buys

LaBellina · 29/05/2021 12:11

This is awful 😂😂😂
I’ll stick to their regular blazers, thanks.

JaneJeffer · 29/05/2021 12:17

I think they mean The Future Bargain Bin.

goose1964 · 29/05/2021 15:50

I like the ruling shorts but that's it.

Oh Zara. Wtf? I like some of their things normally but sometimes they are cringingly try hard. They refused to include plus sizes for ages and their website is a hot mess to use.

karalime · 29/05/2021 18:05

I quite like some of the bodysuits and the flowery catsuit. You’d need to go to the right clubs to wear them, you would hardly wear them to tescos but they are quite nice.

I like the t shirts and the purple bomber jacket as well.

It’s a collab with a trendy French fashion mag so I’m sure a lot of things will sell out. It’s not aimed at your average Zara shopper.

Rina66 · 29/05/2021 18:31

I don't think Zara do many of their products justice online - but they don't have to do they? They keep on selling regardless! The models just look odd, the poses remind me of Twister but without the plastic mat, they are never smiley and don't get me started on their hair! I don't like arty shots for online shopping, I do love a catwalk though, so well done ASOS and take note Zara!

MaryTheMiddle · 29/05/2021 18:35

Zara models are notoriously, strangely posed! I wonder how they choose them 🤔. "Well you have exactly the look we've been searching for. But can you vogue assymetrically"?

The pink and black jackets are nice.

It's not for me, though. It's for young people.

I used to have a collection of catsuits when younger. I remember trying to cycle to an early morning tutorial in a red catsuit, with false gold nails and being perplexed when the nails popped off as I grasped the handlebars.

It all seemed very appropriate at the time.

Catsuits no longer figure as day-wear in my life - but it's lovely to know that there are folks out there, committed to ensuring life remains visually interesting.

thecatfromjapan · 29/05/2021 19:00

Mind you ... I saw the video @LunaNorth posted, about wearing what you like at any age, and I'm prepared to retract the 'for young people' comment.

It's not for me - with my more conservative tastes and my pleasure in being an unobserved observer - these days.

But I would take great pleasure seeing people wearing these.
