a size 12 in every other brand of jeans? M and S jeans seem to be running really large.

Yes, they do run large! I usually wear a 6 in M&S but am a standard 8. That being said, I bought some magic jeans, and the 6 was REALLY tight, so I ended up with an 8 in those.

I'm usually a 10-12 for trousers, depending on the fit . The last pair of M&S jeans I bought, the reviews were complaining they came up very small Even so, knowing they were M&S I ordered a 10. I had to send them back for an 8.

Honestly, if I'm an 8, I have no idea how actual small people buy clothes.
